Milton 33, Roswell 3

Not much could get in the way of the Milton Eagles on Friday night. Not the Roswell Hornets. Not even the loss of star running back Treyvon Paulk. In convincing fashion, the Eagles beat the Hornets, 33-3, in the Region 5-AAAAAA opener for both teams.

With Paulk – a University of Tennessee commit who’s on GHSF Daily’s Player of the Year Watch – going down with a knee injury the first offensive series of the game, Micco Brisker and Chad Toliver each rushed for more than 100 yards in Paulk’s absence, and Toliver and Chris Turner each rushed for two touchdowns.

So our 2 RB commits are injured less than a year before stepping on campus. I'm getting the warm fuzzies just thinking about it.

Hope there's nothing serious here.

Likewise...depending on the severity of Paulk's injury, I wouldn't be be surprised if CBJ went out and got a JUCO RB as the third RB in this class for insurance. This would mean a gray shirt for Dews.

If serious injury that requires long recovery, maybe grey shirt Paulk until 2015 class and go get another back for this 2014 class?

I was at the Roswell v. Milton game last night. It didnt look that bad. at halftime, he walked off the field under his own power, but was limping. Hopefully he is gonna be ok. It happened on like the 3rd play in the first quarter. Scary moment when he went down and didnt get right back up.

"Paulk won't get specific on the knee injury. But there's a lot of talk that it is indeed a torn ACL."
