ATLANTA, Ga. -- Tennessee was the first program to offer Cedartown, Ga., running back Nick Chubb several weeks ago when the whole Tennessee staff called the 5-10, 200-pound tailback and now one of the top players from the Georgia Junior Bowl presented by Rising Seniors wants to see what the Vols have to offer.

"I like them. They called me a couple of weeks ago and I talked to the whole coaching staff and they seemed very interested in me and I'm trying to get down there and see what's going on," Chubb said.

During the conversation, Butch Jones let the junior running back know that he will be a wanted man for Tennessee in the class of 2014.

"They told me I was one of the top prospects they wanted. They said the wish they could go get through the class of 2013 prospects and get right to me and recruit me. It made me feel good," Chubb said.

Since Tennessee offered, Georgia Tech, Purdue and Ohio State have all joined the Vols in offering. Chubb said he hopes to see the new staff notch more wins and believes if that happens Tennessee's recruiting efforts will be better as well.

"Hopefully they'll get better and get a lot more wins. And, I heard some boys in the locker room staying that if they started winning they'd all want to go. That's interesting to me," Chubb said. "People that go up there say they have nice facilities and buildings and nice coaches. I want to go see what they're talking about. I want to go check it out."

Chubb said he wants to see what his teammates in Atlanta have been talking about and wants to set up a visit to Tennessee soon.

"They told me some time next week to call them after the game and call them and set something up to go check them out," Chubb said.

He hasn't been able to set up a visit yet because he's spent the week at preparing for the Georgia Junior Bowl and said it's been a good experience.

"It's been nice to go against the best in the state and get more reps and get more experience and see what all is out there other than the people I play in my region," Chubb said. "So, it's been a good experience playing against people at my level."

Need to stress that Georgia has already offered 2 other 2014 backs in the state. He must be third at best on their list.

UGA and Ga Tech offered per AJC

I would love to have Chubb as one of our RBs for '14. Kid is a beast. He would become solid under CJG.

Nick Chubb was by far the most impressive RB I seen during the week of the Rising Seniors Game. He runs very hard and makes good cuts and catches the ball well. Heres a pic of him I got yesterday at the game

Junior stats: In just 10 games, 320 carries for a state regular-season record 2,697 yards (8.4 ypc) and 38 TDs. Named Georgia's Class AAAA Offensive Player of the Year by the AJC.

"He's a cool coach," Chubb said. "He seems real official and he is going to change things at Tennessee. He knows what he is talking about and you can tell he is very demanding and knows what he is doing."

Chubb has also had some dialogue with running backs coach Jay Graham. The two have talked a few times and Chubb knows about the former Vol's playing days in Knoxville.

"My coach told me how good he was when he played running back there," Chubb said. "We have started a good relationship and he seems really nice. He's like a big brother and I feel like he's down to earth."

Chubb ran for over 2700 yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior. He's dynamic with the ball in his hands and he's constantly trying to get better. He feels like he can have an even bigger senior campaign.

Chubb has serious interest in Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Tennessee and several others. He hopes to take some visits early in the process and get an idea of what will be important to him.

"I want to visit each school over the next month or so and see what each has to offer," Chubb said. "I've not got anything set up, but that's my goal. I want to go to a school that will give me the chance to play early and get the ball. Coaching staff is also very important to me."

Chubb hopes to move quickly on the recruiting process, but doesn't plan to rush his decision.

"I'll probably do something after the football season is over," Chubb said.

As he said in the Rivals article, he's trying to visit all of his top schools over the next month. So, he has the following trips planned: travel to Georgia Tech on Sunday, Alabama on Jan. 26, and Ohio State on Feb. 10.

"No one is standing out. Pretty much everybody is even," he said. "I like Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Georgia, and Tennessee, though. As of right now, I would say that Georgia and Ohio State are recruiting me the hardest."
