was chattin with him on twitter and he said a visit during the spring game is a possibility, hope we can get this kid, looks like hes going to be a really good one. was commenting on a tweet he had about FGCU and florida game tonight and we struck up a convo. i labeled the convo flow so people not fluent in twitter could keep up. and before anyone says anything about privacy, it was publicly viewable tweets, which for him means like 2,000 see every one one of them and 33 for me lol so it wasnt like a private convo that i made public.

That's the perfect way to tweet a recruit. Send em' a tweet, if they respond (most don't) casually chat them up with another tweet or 2 and then give them a #govols at the end. Well done, Ertel.

Just picked up a Bama offer. I wonder if it is conditional on coming to camp and competing for a real offer? If not, I wonder this news makes young Cornwell feel?

BUFORD, Ga. -- ESPN Watch List quarterback Tyler Harris (Blackshear, Ga./Pierce County) competed in the 11 Atlanta regional on Saturday, showing his trademark velocity despite the windy conditions. Toward the end of the camp he was placed in the second group, but after hitting the mark on some tough throws, Harris was promoted to the first group, which contained the day’s top performers.

Despite outperforming more than 50 other quarterbacks and making the final group, Harris will not rest until he picks up an invitation to the 11 competition.

“I’m going to try to get into another one,” Harris said. “One of my goals for this summer was to get to the 11. so I’m going to try to do that and get into another camp. I don’t think I met my expectations today. I started off slow but as the day went on I got better. Coach [Trent] Dilfer told me I did a good job, but still, I’m not impressed with myself, I’ve got to get better.”

Harris is his own worst critic. Five programs have verbally offered him a scholarship. Alabama was the first to offer, followed most recently by Mississippi State, Kentucky, Troy and USF.

“I called USF yesterday and they offered me, but I’m still not anywhere close to a decision,” Harris said. “I’m going to try and take some visits this summer and try to make a decision before my senior season starts.”

Says Vandy and USC are close to offering. By the end of the summer this kid will be on a lot of boards while colleges battle for him. His offer list is getting ready to take off.
