'14 GA DT Chris Williams

I understand that kids drink. I can also understand why CBJ would frown on it while a recruit is on a visit to Tennessee. UT is a way is responsible for that kid. Have to show the recruits a good time, but if our current players are allowing/providing means for a 16/17 year old kid to drink under their supervision, not sure that is a good idea. What if something happen to that kid? Wasn't there a story where a recruit was arrested for being drunk in public on a recruiting visit(to another school) or something like that last year?

not sure if you have gone on recruiting trips but that is just what happens in basically all sports - you are assigned some older guys once the parents leave to stay the night with and then they "show you a good time" - ie they party

just time to hang out with the guys, party, see if you click basically with the people on the team - nothing to get worried about

We are talking about 15-17 year old kids here right? You do know that drinking at that age is against the law right? Maybe YOU feel it is nothing to worry about. ALOT of responsible parents would disagree I am sure.

Off the field stuff is bogus. That's someone trying to make an excuse for absolutely no reason.

As far as you know. I believe you when you say he's a good kid, but *if* he had off the field stuff, I doubt he'd tell you. I doubt he did anything, but you can't be 100% sure.

Over the line smokey. Over the line.

I am well aware of the drinking age - i am simply saying if it is a problem it is not a UT problem - it is a problem at EVERY college in EVERY sport

I went to a Baptist college in the South and it was soccer - so its not just the high profile sports and not just the top flight programs

it is literally every sport and every college in the country

Not that it would matter but officials must be at least HS seniors so that would make them 17-19 year olds. Of course nobody under 21 ever drinks on a college campus.

Hoping things work out with this kid and we get back in the mix for his signature. He's the best future DT we are in on IMO

Chris Williams was not on an OV. UT hosts alot of visitors well before there SR year in HS. Apparently, if the kid is visiting Tennessee, underage drinking is just expected. It's no big deal and is acceptable.

I would have Lambert #1, and Williams #2.

Barnett #3, Humphreys #4, and Mosley #5. JMO

Correct. JUCO DT is #1 priority but a far as high school kids, give me Williams and Barnett and I'm a happy camper. Throwing in Humphreys is just gravy, and I like gravy. :)
