@Chris5_ how's that goin man? You narrowing it down?

Chris Williams‏@Chris5_
@austin_preiss19 yeah man just ole miss and Tennessee now.

Chris Williams talking to a fan about his recruitment

Ole Miss gonna be mad! OOOOOH they gonna be so mad. He done took that bag of cash they offered and jetted north to the mountains...the Smokey Mountains. Boys gonna be a Tennessee Vol.

I'm not very optimistic about some of the DT/DL recruits, but given what I've read from and about this kid in the last month, I'd be surprised if he isn't a Vol soon.

If we can get Lambert, I would be very happy with him, Williams, Mosley, Barnett and Hendrix or at least 4 of the 5.

That's why getting a JUCO DT in this class would be so so sweet. A solid JUCO, Carr, Obrien, and either Saulsbury or the best freshman as a 4th guy in the rotation. Would actually allow us to RS a couple quality legit freshman DTs....a luxury we've not had in a while. But the key is a JUCO guy. No JUCO and we have no choice but to have two freshman in the rotation. Either way JUCO or no JUCO in this class, we land some of these HS guys we're in on, we will have a filthy DT rotation come 2015.

I don't think a freshman would start on the DL either way (at least not a true freshman) and probably wouldnt end up in the 2 deep

JCarr, CVereen, Mbrown, Jmiller, KVickers, Dobrien, Jwilliams, saulsberry will all be on the Dline

also CM and Llewis could find their way to the DL

i would certainly like to see a juco guy come into the mix but not sure the alternative is a true freshman starting at DT

They will absolutely have freshman in the two deep in '14 if those are the 8 guys they are competing for PT with. Other than 3-4 guys on that list there is very little quality.

I agree. O'Brien, Jordan Williams, Jason Carr, and Vereen seem to be potential starting SEC level talent. LaTroy should be considered a DE, IMO, and he has to prove himself this season, and stay healthy. Outside of those four, you can be assured that there will be freshmen in this conversation next year if we land the guys that we are in on, i.e., Chris Williams, Lambert, Hendrix, etc.

Also, on Chris Williams, it's interesting that not one of the 12 predictions on 247 has changed from Ole Miss.

My thoughts exactly. Those are the 4 I would have mentioned as well as far as quality goes.

You are probably right on the 2 deep - especially at DT - but i do think it will be tough for a freshman to come in and beat out obrien or carr - both were very good prospects and would have some time in the program - for better or worse, w/o a juco DT id say that is our starting 2 DT's

but on DE I think it is very unlikely unless we are talking about an absolute beast freshman - some combination of Llewis, CM, Jwilliams, and CVereen all seem to be SEC level quality prospects imo

I probably didn't do a good job of conveying my message. My point is.....no JUCO DT in this class = 2 freshman in the DT rotation in 14'. Carr and Obrien, then who? I'd feel better with Carr, Obrien, Lambert/Lamin (either), and let Saulsbury duke it out with the best true freshman. But I think Saulsbury will atleast improve enough this year to be the 4th DT in 14' if we land a JUCO.

Something like:

2014

DT:Carr, Lambert/Lamin
DT:Obrien, Saulsbury

Hopefully land Humphreys, Barnett, Williams and RS them all. Any other DT who wants to come on board....I'm fine with that. I'm more less trying to avoid playing true freshman at DT. Then in 15' we would be absolutely sick on the d-line and deep as hell at DT.

Just seen on Twitter he commited to ole miss. I am suprised I thought he was all vol.

Wow Hubbs basically said he might not be high on UT's board. Guess he wasn't lying! Butch better get some stud DT's to commit soon or this place is in for a meltdown lol

Someone get Lebanonvol a chair and some aspirin.

Tennessee has closed the gap with him. I think Ole Miss is still a factor and where he sits on Tennessee's board at this point. I think there are some guys ahead of him. It's going to be very interesting to see how the DL recruitment plays out in this class.
- Hubbs on Williams

As of right now, I'm not sure where he is on Tennessee's board. I think he still likes Tennessee, but I'm not sure where he falls for the Vols right now on their board.

- Fortenberry on Humphreys

I think Tennessee as other schools do have growing concerns about his lack of height and how effective he can be at the next level.

- Hubbs on Ford

I think it is pretty clear they have a very good picture of what the DT board looks like and what to expect in the next 2-3 weeks.

They don't make statements like that on a whim.
