'14 GA DE Dante Sawyer

smart move because his top options won't take him right now so it's better he wait for them then decide early and go to his 3rd or lower option.
I don't always disagree with you like a lot on here, but this is dead wrong. Sawyer is a borderline elite guy. No one would tell him no of he wanted to commit

just because he is ranked high doesn't mean he is a take at this time for either UGA or Bama. he wanted to commit more than 2 to 3 weeks ago, but couldn't so he is slowing it down which imo is a good thing for him to do if he truly wants to go to his top target.

Or maybe he just wants to go somewhere other than Georgia because he knows he'll never win a national championship with Mark Richt as his head coach. One word... CHOKE.

The fact that a UGA guy is holding his university to the same standard as Bama is hilarious. Win something of relevance, then you can say "UGA and Bama"

first time posting here. lots of great info.

just going off what I have read from uga insiders on the pay sites sawyer might not be a take currently by bama or uga because of his size. for the 3-4 he could grow into a bit of a tweener. some think he will grow into a 3-4 DE. as opposed to a 3-4 OLB. which could push him down the board for a few teams. this is just projecting and speculation though.

I will admit I was a little surprised, and somewhat disappointed when I read that sawyer might not be a take currently. if true. only the coaches know for sure. but like a vol fan said on this thread sawyer is borderline "elite". I would be a little surprised if sawyer wasn't a take for uga or bama. unless grades were an issue also. which I don't believe is the case.

Dante Sawyer's decision to delay his commitment bodes well for Tennessee to get into the race. Can Butch make up ground on UGA and UA?

Doesn't sound true from that article.. Sounds like ua/uga are pushing for a commt now, and he's afraid he will get passed on if he waits too long.

there have been a lot of articles the past 3 to 4 weeks on him and it's clear what is going on with him. neither team is pushing for a commit now. it's why he pushed back his commitment.. he needs to take it slower and check out some schools while waiting to see if something changes regarding his commitment acceptance and if that doesn't clear up then he can pick another option that is a good fit for him.

You have an example of one of these articles? Or are you going to ask us to take your homeristic word for it?

"Of course Georgia and Alabama are still up there for me, but*Auburn*and*Tennessee are in it too now," Sawyer told Scout.

"I am 100-percent sure that I will commit this summer," he said. "I will be committed before the season starts so I can focus on the team and my school work. I will take some visits this summer and then be ready. I am sure of that."

Orlando Brown talked about Sawyer (I think) in his interview yesterday following the camp they were at over the weekend. He kinda smiled when he mentioned "Dante". Obviously something between the two. Let the speculation begin

If Sawyer commits then Brown already knew....but if Sawyer goes somewhere else then Brown was smiling because he whipped Sawyer's arse at that camp. :)

"Auburn, Tennessee, Clemson and South Carolina," Sawyer said. "Those are the schools that stood out to me and those are the schools that have been reaching out to me the most." - Rivals, 6/20

"According to Sawyer, the primary programs in play are Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State and Tennessee. He said the Volunteers are recruiting him hardest." - 247, 6/17

Definitely a long shot. Need to get him on campus.

Kid changes week to week. First deciding between UGA and bama. Then osu, Clemson, auburn, and ut are in. Then osu, UGA, and bama are out.
A tad Wishy washy.

Coaching staff clearly wants this guy and is going after him hard. Lets just hope the interest begins to develop from his side too.
