They are about as close as a lock I think I've dealt with over the last few years. Would be shocked if they're not in this class.
Fortenberry said this a week or so ago...
That's Pfort speak for "they've already committed to Butch".
The twins don't even visit other schools, they don't go to camps, they don't do anything but visit UT once in awhile and bleed orange. These guys have been Vols since birth.
What makes some of you think they won't be Vols?
No doubt VQ is saying its a done deal. I rarely go against them but here I am. I certainly could be wrong but I just don't see numbers being close to working unless we are cutting multiple kids loose.
Eh not really. I would be honest about who I like a lot and not as much about our recruits/commits but the flames would be real. I try to only post positive thoughts and keep the negative ones to myself.Yep. That's a big thing against my theory
I'd be willing to bet that if you got an honest, off the record, answer from Butch on who the most important recruits in the 2014 class are, he would list The Berry twins in the top 5, maybe 1st and 2nd.
Butch is a guy who's embraced all that is UT, it's traditions, it's history and it's former players. This class is full of legacies from top to bottom and there's not a doubt in my mind Butch is doing everything he can to make sure James Berry's youngest two boys are Vols.
If Evan and Elliott weren't very good, I'd understand them not being apart of this class. That's part of the business. But these kids are very good. If they had opened up their recruitment more, gone to camp after camp, visited schools all over the country and showed they might not be Vols...their offer lists would be much longer.
The fact is, they've been Vols for a long time and most everyone knows that. If I'm wrong, I'll eat crow. But I don't think I am. I think Butch wants them to commit late in the process to finish off the UT RISE TO THE TOP LEGACY CLASS OF 2014.

I agree. I really like Evan's game a lot. I think he will be very good at UT. I'm sure Elliot will find his niche on the team too. Both will be special teams warriors from day 1 as well.I'd be willing to bet that if you got an honest, off the record, answer from Butch on who the most important recruits in the 2014 class are, he would list The Berry twins in the top 5, maybe 1st and 2nd.

Ending with a bang isn't as beneficial as getting them on board recruiting like the others IMO.
I am fully aware I very likely am wrong.
