Vols offered last week per VQ.

from Rivals ATL camp today...

Also on the defensive side of the ball was Malkom Parrish who Tennessee offered late last week. The kid absolutely showed out at defensive back. He had over four interceptions in one-on-ones which the receiver has a huge advantage. He's a name to remember moving forward because the kid can play. I'd look for Tennessee to be more involved there moving forward.

Brooks County cornerback Malkom Parrish brought home the defensive skill MVP, and it was well-earned. Parrish had at least four interceptions on the day and only once did a receiver get enough separation to haul in a pass. After today, Parrish may lay claim to the top defensive back in the Peach State.

I remember when rusty mansell just couldn't stop talking about Parrish at an early camp. he was dead on in his assessment. right now uga has a good lead for Parrish. I know Georgia tech is trying to sell him on playing qb for them.

From ESPN.

“Georgia Tech is my leader,” Parrish said. “The relationship I have with the staff at Georgia Tech and being able to see them gives them an edge over other schools right now. I love the coaching staff, and every time I go up there it feels like home. Education wise it is great, and I like the way the team gets after it.”

Right now, things are shaping up to be an in-state battle for the 5-foot-10, 185-pound athlete.

“Georgia and Georgia Tech are running neck and neck as far as how hard they are recruiting me,” Parrish said. “Georgia is my No. 2 school right now, and I plan to visit Athens sometime this summer before I make my decision.”

Parrish had a "magnificent" visit to UGA this past weekend.

Article

some comments from Parrish:

"It was a magnificent place," Parrish told Dawgs247's Rusty Mansell. "I never expected Georgia to be like it was. The coaching staff was all great. They showed me a good time and basically pulled out the red carpet for me."

"I'll probably make a decision sometime before the season starts," he said.

"I want to play cornerback," he said.

"Malkom will announce his decision at 11am Thursday after football practice," Brooks County head coach Maurice Freeman told Scout. "He will announce his decision in front of him team. He will commit to Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, or Tennessee."

I actually think we're #2 but that's not a good place to be considering he's announcing in a few days...

Unfortunately, I think we just get a hat on the table. UGA bound IMO.

He's only visited UGA and GT IIRC. That should answer your question (implying no top talent picks GT for those not seeing the obvious).

yep it's a UGA/GT battle for him. he actually didn't visit gt on friday like he planned, but he was able to make it out to Athens and boy did he ever put on a show at the mark richt camp..

I actually disagree. I don't think GT has a chance. I would say it's:

UGA

The rest, probably UT/Scar/GT in order which doesn't matter

I think he visited GT so much just because he's from GA and it is a good learning institution. No football player says "I want to play for GT over UGA/UT IMHO

I agree he is going to pick UGA, but it's always been 2 schools for Parrish.. none of the other schools have been in play for him. GT was trying to sell him on playing QB in their system and early on he was considering it, but he knows his future in the NFL is DB. Parrish wasn't leaving the state and that's been known for some time.
