'14 GA C C.J. Turman (Tennessee Commit 8/18)

I don't wish any ill will toward CJ. Out of the 4 previous signees, Turman was the only one who didn't fit the system IMO. Felt like we would lose him regardless really.

Kid shows how committed he was to the school (even those who commit to a coach, develop something for the school) to the point he doesn't event want to meet the new coach.

That my friends shows how much he would give to Tennessee...would have been the typical player who at the first sign of trouble would play for his stats or just quit.

Too slow for CDT's system anyways. He would have had to drop a few lbs. He was going to need a couple of years to develop anyways. I liked his defending skills though.

And to this ... Just like UT fans were ready to quit on CCM? Maybe he seen how the fan base can be with a coach and not risk maybe going through another coaching change.

Because DT said thanks , but no thanks.

Correct, but the assumption he's nothing but a FAU level player isn't true. He would've likely ended up at Georgia or Bama if not for the SEC rule, but getting to play for his HS coach was also pretty appealing.

Agree. Just thought he would've still ended up at a bigger name school.

All knowing Spart. I'm sure you know the real reason huh?

he had his mind made up to play for a black HC and Curry also has NBA playing experience (sound familiar?) Somebody also said his hs coach was headed there so there you have it.

Don't ask if you don't want the answer that screws up your agenda.

Just saw he committed to FAU today. He must have had a whole lot of uncommittable offers to sign with FAU.

Good luck to him

He's going there to play for his HS coach who was hired recently as assistant.

That makes more sense. Per 247, he had some pretty good offers.

Having his games televised must not have been a priority. :p

Cofer was the only one in this class that had a chance to be decent. Reminds me of Dooley`s last few classes

I really felt Cornish, Austin and Cofer had a chance to really excel in this system. All three were very solid players. Honestly, we'd be ecstatic to recruit guys that are ranked around their area at this point IMO. Austin's game will translate well in most systems with him being more of a true PG that hustles. Cornish has a man's body and is an athletic slasher. Cofer's natural abilities just fit. . Turman is a solid player, but he was the only one who really didn't fit in this system.
