Sony Michel
Positions: RB, LB
Ht/Wt: 5'11"/180

Rising star

Sony Michel helped American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.) clinch the District 8-2A title with a 36-27 win over Cardinal Gibbons by rushing for 203 yards on 33 carries and two scores. Michel, only an eighth-grader, has compiled 1,275 yards on 155 carries with 14 touchdowns (8.23 yards per carry) this season.

Outstanding young running back with unusual speed for his young age. Competed on the varsity level in 2009 and was amazing. Rushed for over 1,800 yards and 18 TDs

If you didn't get a chance to watch American Heritage running back Sony Michel this season, no worries.

You'll have four more years to catch the running back who emerged as one of Broward's best this season.

Michel, who finished the regular season among small-school rushing leaders with 235 carries for 1,703 yards and 18 touchdowns, has been named a Youth All-American for his efforts.

Tonight, Michel will receive his jersey to participate in the Football University Youth All-American Bowl, an all-star game featuring 140 of the nation's top middle school football players.

The game is modeled after the U.S. Army All-American Bowl (which this year feature several Broward standouts including Miramar's Ivan McCartney and St. Thomas Aquinas' Michael Palardy and Brandon Linder).

The Youth All-American Bowl will take place in San Antonio on Jan. 10 and will be broadcast on the wib via footballuniversity.org.

Get Evan and Elliot to start recruiting this kid.... haha. Kid is a freak if all those measurables are true.... He will surely grow quite a bit or at least add muscle which could be scary with that fourty time (although I'm not sure there is anyway possible its a real 4.47).

ASSETS: Superior quickness, excellent hands and tremendous size for his age.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Sometimes does not watch the ball all the way in because he is in a hurry to run with the ball before it is caught.
WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE: Nearly impossible to cover coming out of the backfield and showed similar athleticism to elite senior prospects. His versatility will allow him to project as a BCS-level RB, WR or DB.
CONCLUSION: Easily one of the top five prospects at this camp regardless of age or position. He will receive offers from all over the country with the promise of early playing time.

The same for Bo Scarbrough. He blew his knee out last fall but still ranked. Prior to the injury he ran a 4.3 40. His 1st time out this past March he ran a 4.4 40 since the surgery.

The 2013 Ath/CB Jalen Ramsey tore his ACL his soph. year I think(got a 44 inch vertical). They've gotten so much better at repairing knees it's crazy.
