"Every school that has offered me is standing out right now," Johnson told GopherIllustrated.com. "I plan on taking official visits to Minnesota, Louisville, North Carolina and Tennessee because they're out of state schools and they've been recruiting me pretty hard."

8. D'ERNEST JOHNSON, IMMOKALEE (FLA.)
The RCS Miami event was deep at the skill positions, and Johnson sneaked under the radar to capture the Offensive Skill MVP award after winning a ton of reps in one-on-ones on seam, angle, and wheel routes. Johnson displayed adequate linear speed, quickness, hands and route running to be a threat in the passing game, which was something we wanted to see from the four-star prospect.

From UNC rivals on 4/22...

"Right now Georgia is standing out a lot, and Louisville and North Carolina are standing out the most right now. I'm liking all three of them. They're at my top. I'm liking all three of them," Johnson said. "Relationships (has them in the top three). It really doesn't matter about the conferences. Again, I'm fairly early (in the process) and all that."

"Probably at the end of summertime or during the season, (I'll) make the decision," he said. "Just getting playing time (is a factor). Yes sir (depth charts will play a role in my decision)."

Johnson said Oklahoma was a school that he was hoping to get an offer from during the recruiting process, but he added that for now, 'I'm just going to keep that top three list.'

He might not have 4.4 speed but is still fast, runs really hard and packs a punch, and he also blocks very well. He would be an awesome addition. Says he wants to visit us, so we will see

D'Ernest Johnson taking home the MVP honors at the RCS Miami event surprised a few Rivals.com onlookers. Johnson wasn't known as a home run-type back, but he beat linebackers and safeties in one-on-ones while surprising us with his speed and route running. In a camp that featured fellow four-stars such as Joseph Yearby and Ryeshene Bronson, Johnson walked away with top billing.

He's tried to commit to UF on a couple of occasions, even announced his "commitment" at one point. Obviously, since it hasn't been accepted he appears to be a backup plan for UF.

Good HS to make inroads with.......however kids in Immokalee do their own thing.
