If you're not a team located in the SEC, don't call Dillon Bates (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Ponte Vedra Beach). Three SEC teams are vying to land the nation's No. 3 outside linebacker.

Alabama, Florida and Tennessee comprise Bates' top three schools. Tennessee may have a slight edge due to Bates being a legacy.

"There is a little added pressure from when my dad (Bill Bates) played here and with the support of the fans," Bates told Kynon Codrington of Rivals.com. "But my parents told me there is no pressure coming from them. They want me to take the best decision for me.

"(Tennessee has) done an incredible job turning the program around and connecting with the players and my family. It's been great to see."

Alabama appears to be the top competition for Tennessee to land Bates.

"(Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby) Smart is a great guy," Bates said. "He knows my linebacker coach at my school and we talk a lot. Coach [Nick] Saban does a good job of getting guys to the next level, which is something that will help me if I want to follow in my dad's footsteps."

Alabama currently sits on the top of the college football mountain, but Bates' ties to Tennessee may be too difficult to overcome:

Great point on Dillon not punking his Dad's school. I think that our coaching staff is the most desirable for recruits and their families. Muschamp and his staff don't have the cummulative drive we have, plus to corny marketing they're doing ie. Jokers ads, etc. Also, Saban's own gravitas is the only draw there. I hear to be around him....he's a jerk to players and there's no family feel. I think Butch is going to stay at #1 and finish that way too:good!:

Anyone that has been worried about this recruitment is one that just has to worry about everything. This has been done for a long time and I think that has been pretty obvious to most

On an interview on TOS Bates was asked what he loved most about each program (Tenn, Bama, and Fla) he obviously went into most depth on UT. But the part I loved the most was when he was asked what he loved about FLA. I'm paraphrasing him, but he said, I like them because they are kind of the home town team all my friends grew up Tenn........ I mean Florida fans Even when asked about another school, he can't contain his love for the Vols. Love this kid.

If I were Dillon I would start messing with people. Start taking all kinds of pictures over the next month in all different locations. I would always make sure to have a brick in the picture somewhere in the background, post them on twitter and see how long it is until people would catch on. Would be hilarious.
