If there is Hope, there is always a chance!

Reasons to pick UT over tu (Aggies' name for them):
1. We are the Volunteers! Proud heritage and gained our state namesake saving Texas.

2. They are cows. As my son says here in Texas, "You eat cows, you brand and own cattle, you do NOT root for them!" My son is 10 :)

3. SEC >>>big 12 (btw big 12 does not have 12 member teams. Want you child to get education in a confernce that has difficulty with kindergarten math?)

4. Dad an Mom are both Tennessee grads. Dad played and coached with Cowboys. Not cows.

More reasons, but I gotta get to work. I am yet another Tennessean saving lives in Texas :)

I hate the fact that if we beat SC, it is now an upset. On an upside, I do think we have 4 SEC wins this year, SC, AU, VU, and UK. We could possibly have 5, as I think that we play tough against UF and UGA.

You underestimate what a disadvantage Having good ol' Dooley walking the Tennessee sidelines was. We make a bowl game this year and recruits will notice.

He wants his 5th star. The only way to do that is commit to Bama or Texas.

Bates will commit to Texas, get his 5th star, then flip to the Vols on NSD and tell Santos to F off.

Fanhood is instilled at an early age, and normally influenced by those closest to you and not where you live. I was born and raised in FL my entire life and to this day, only lived in TN during my four years at UT. But I grew up a UT fan because that's all I knew. But of course I was inundated with UF and FSU hoopla on a daily basis and I can't stand either one. I just don't see a kid who's dad not only attended the university but also played for it being influenced by a school in a state he happened to live in for a little while.

My kid loves Georgia Tech and UT because of what we as a family love them too. He likes GT even though he lives in Tennessee. Has UT and GT stuff.

I disagree and believe its very possible that his years in Dallas will enfluence his decision. The good news is that he left there at age 8. Hopefully he doesn't keep up with friends from his early years very much in that area. If he had been there thru his early teens I would be much more worried.

i grew up rooting for one team and despising one team.

tennessee and bama.

doesnt matter if its water polo or knitting. tennessee. doesnt matter.

i always bust my buddys chops for waffling, back and forth usually coincides with who evers winning...hes an acc fan too.

Hi 1Orange, I read the forum almost daily and post when I have something I think ya'll might be interested in.

The first few months of retirement went well, but I've been in the hospital 3 times and had 3 surgeries since November. Blood clots are scary things. Doing well now though.

I'd love to come up and see Nate play. That's on my list of things to do! Nothing against Worley, but I'd like to see my boy get to start. :)

thank god you don't live on Memphis home of the proud Patriot/lakers/49ers(recently)/Alabama fans. The great city if the bandwagoneers!!!!

I was born and raised in Atlanta and have been a Tech fan all my life. Married into a vol family almost 24 years ago and started going to games and became a fan. All things being equal, I will pull for Tech over UT. But, if UT were undefeated playing an 8-2 Tech team, I would pull for UT while hoping they were on their way to a NC. So, not really weird AC. So, kid knows we pull for both. Also, with GT and UT, hate Bama a lot.

Living in TN for as long as I have now, may be a tad more passionate for UT, shhhhhhhh....don't tell anybody.............whole diff thing.........Tech will always have to coach up what they get..........UT has the potential to have top 10 classes while Tech has never had one but have some success from time to time

couldnt stomach that. bad enough im in nc with all the acc fans who follow 25 teams. 3 for eacn member lf the fam.

have a buddy who grad law school, lived in downtown mempiss. so bad, a staunch gun control advocate who bought a gun. hated it so much he and his dr wife left for florida. he just passed the bar.

memphis is hell

Dillon Bates 2012 highlights look really good. He takes really good angles when running guys down. I am not sure if he is just that great or if the competition he is playing is a lot slower.
