They had this really unique video they showed me

It's all making sense now...UK is using subliminal mind control tactics as a recruiting strategy. Someone call the NCAA.

They probably showed him UK men's bball team winning the championship a couple of years ago and said to him "Could you imagine yourself winning it all here?"

"I just came to have fun," said Harrell, who had just checked out Clemson. "I came to chill with my boys and lock people down."

"They keep asking me what position I want to play," he said. "They offered me as a running back but they still continue to ask me what position I want to play. It don't really matter."

"As far as the type of defense that they run, I would probably fit in better as the nickel or safety or as a defensive guy overall because of my coverage and how physical I am. I also play linebacker," Harrell said. "So, I would say nickel, but at the same time I like running back. We will have to see when we get here."

On possibility of working with Hurd:

"Absolutely, absolutely," Harrell said. "All this is about competition, man. Anywhere you go in the nation there's going to be competition. It can be Kentucky, it can be a small Middle Tennessee, it doesn't really matter. Anywhere you go there's going to be competition. It's just the level of competition. I would love to compete with that man."

"I talk to Jones probably once or twice a week," said Harrell, who plays his prep ball at Catholic High School in Tampa, Fla.

"Top 3, easy. This place really has a great chance to get me. I'm not even going to lie — really has a good chance," he said.

"It's going to be late because like I said I'm going to be a man of my word," Harrell said. "I'm going to hold off. I'm not going to commit. I'm not going to do none of that. I'm going to sit back, and I'm going to wait."

I love reading this kid's responses. Very straightforward and honest. I respect that.

But in before "he will lose his spot. CBJ won't wait for no one!"

Did he just compare Kentucky to Middle Tennessee?

I love the fact that we are taking so many versatile athletes In this class. Get the guys in who have speed and strength and plug them in where we need them.

It reminds me of the 90's when we took players like Eric Westmoreland from
Marion County. Mr. Football Running Back, yet was a great linebacker for us.

I think just increasing our athleticism will help us tremendously.

I agree. That was my argument with Kendrick Doss. Wasn't Eric Westmoreland a LB?

'I love this place,' were Harrell's exact words after leaving Tennessee last month when he spent a day on campus visiting and camping with Tennessee. Harrell can line up at running back, safety or linebacker in college and showed his versatility at camp and its a big reason Tennessee likes the Tampa product. And right now, he's liking the Vols right back. Harrell has Tennessee in his top three and are likely closer to the top than the bottom in that group. Michigan State, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Kentucky are all contenders for Harrell, as well as FSU if they turn up the heat, but the Vols are in an enviable spot as of now.

Love this prospect's versatility!! Would love to see him grow in a college S&C program, and become an OLB. Would be dynamic IMO.

You think Harrell has that much upside? He's a great prospect but IMO McDowell has beast written all over him at FS.

I agree. I think they project at two totally different positions. McDowell is a hell of a FS prospect. I love Harrell but he's an OLB in college, maybe SS if he were to stay in the secondary.
