'14 FL ATH Brandon Powell

I really like this kids film. He just goes for it. I'm excited that we're finally getting athletes like this again! Welcome to the big orange, Mr Powell!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking at his highlights on Youtube and saw that in the description of his Sophomore highlights it says he had a 4.1 GPA! We're definitely not getting any grade penalties in the future with CBJ as our coach!

+1

All the time these kids are spending together on return trips to campus and the mall, and all is just building friendships and will help keep the class together. While other recruits are trying to take as many trips as possible, Tennessee has almost their whole class ON CAMPUS and recruiting. Makes a big difference as Powell mentioned in his quotes today.

Great post! It's huge that these guys are not only not taking other visits but instead coming back over and over to visit and recruit!

So, with all the twitter talk from Lee, is there a chance Lee de-commits because of Powell committing? I dont know what was said in the tweet, but Lee needs to understand that there will be competition wherever he goes. Thats just how it is in College.

Only the coaches know where each one will play come Saturdays. Its not set in stone if Powell will play Slot, CB, Rb. If Lee is coming in as a Slot guy, then Powell could play corner or RB. Powell is listed at 5'9 - 5'10 and could grow another inch before he steps on campus. Put 10-15lbs on him and he could be electric in the backfield. Powell reminds me alot of Barry Sanders with his cutting ability, and quickness. You could have a BRUISER in Hurd and a guy like Powell in the same backfield. You line them both up in the backfield and the Defense dont know which one is getting the ball. That will cause alot of problems for opposing defenses. Because you dont know which one to prepare for.

Put Powell and Hurd back there and the defense will have to make a choice, do we go for the 6'3 230lb MONSTER, that is a LOAD TO BRING DOWN, or do we go with the 5'10 200lb LIGHTNING Quick guy that is tough to even put a hat on?

Sounds like a WIN-WIN situation to me. :good!:

You guys still don't know if his tweets are football related. There was a freak out in the Weatherd thread like this and nothing came of it.

We do have 6 slots on campus next year, so I'd imagine it's possible we'll lose one before nsd.

There's also a kid named Treyvaun Paulk who plays RB committed in this class.

SN: I think Lee is the best slot WR committed in our class so he shouldn't be worried about a thing.

You could be right and I doubt we'd have trouble finding another slot this class. I'm just saying, lets not write off Lee now because of some tweets.
