After Deerfield Beach's 2012 football season ended, running back Brandon "BP" Powell said, he started working with local trainer Tony Sands on his speed. Most mornings before school, they met at 4:30 a.m. at Fort Lauderdale's Carter Park and focused on improving his explosiveness on his starts.

Consequently, Powell and Deerfield Beach coach Allen Jackson noted, his time in the 40-yard dash has dropped from the 4.5s last season to 4.4 this spring. Powell said he is working toward getting down to 4.3.

"I was thinking too much last year. But now this year I've gotten faster and stronger and I'm just hitting the holes quicker and everything," Powell said.

Had a good performance against Douglas:

Deerfield Beach’s Brandon Powell made his presence felt on the first play from scrimmage as the Bucks grounded visiting Douglas, 49-7, on Friday night.
Powell, a junior running back, scored on a 68-yard touchdown run on the Bucks first play from scrimmage to set the tone. Powell finished the first half with 183 rushing yards and three touchdowns en route to a 214-yard effort for the night. He also had scoring runs of 60 and 49 yards.

So ya think Booth is allowed to commit now? I hope so.
No, unfortunately. I think we take 1-2 more WRs and those are reserved for Malone/Lauderdale. I think our staff was up front with Booth and told him what was up and he's just waiting on word that he can commit.

In b4 Booth plays slot, I think he could play both. Just because he's 5'11" doesn't mean he can't play outside.

I hope they let him commit
