'14 DC DB Jalen Tabor

“I learned about a week ago I will be able to graduate early,” he said. “It means I will be able to get ready to play (in college) sooner.”

“Definitely*Florida,*Maryland, Alabama*and*Vanderbilt,” said Tabor, the No. 5 cornerback in the class. “It’s just those four, but others can get involved.”

From any non-fan perspective, that is a horrific top four. Maryland and Vanderbilt have nearly an equal history of winning, meaning none, and UF is a preening front runner with the equivalent of a slightly more aggressive Frankenstein as their coach, Alabama, though I loathe them, is an understandable choice at this juncture.

don't bro me unless you know me.

Lol. Mike D pretending to have real life friends. That's priceless :eek:lol:

Tabor seems to have a bit of an ego. Vandy did a good job selling him on the "why go somewhere and be the next whoever when you could come here and be the first..." pitch. He also knows he will start day one at Vandy in the SEC which gives him something to think about. I'd be very shocked if he ends up in Nashville, but in recruiting anything can happen.

He has a similar build and makeup to a Dee Milliner, who just left Bama and Saban is a DB guru with a resumé that speaks for itself when it comes to putting his guys in the league. Kirkpatrick, Milliner, Barron, Johnson, Arenas just to name a few have all gone in the first two rounds and are all still in the league.

Muschamp is selling him on playing with VH3 and the departure of several key members of their secondary after this season. Florida has great facilities and success on the field as well. This is where I see him going as of right now.

Maryland is the dark horse. He has several friends on the team and seems comfortable there. It is also close to home for him. He would start from day one at Maryland, but if he truly looks at his options I think he opts to go somewhere else. They could very well be in it until he signs though.

Tennessee was his first offer and early favorite. That was mainly due to his relationship with coach Sal unfortunately. He is still listening to us and has mentioned he talks with coach Thig, but until we get him back on campus he's a long shot. It helps we have his teammate and current commit, D Payne, recruiting him as well as TKJr, but we still have some ground to make up with Tabor.

I'd go to UF over Bama any day as a DB. They don't babysit CBs like Saban does with all that safety help. CBs at Bama can't even backpedal well.

If Tabor has seen any recent pictures of Hurd, he might reconsider going to a rival school. I doubt Tabor wants to meet Hurd across the middle :)

Both take a back seat to LSU in my opinion.

Florida DBs take backseat to no one. Have the best CBs in the country. LSU DBs and Florida are on the same level. Bama does well with safeties but that's it. I'm ready to see what UT's DBs do under CWM though. He's a fun coach players will want to make plays under him.
