We lost our shot at elite RBs when Hart settled for a Big East coach who couldn't beat Dooley. This too shall pass.

That Big east Coach we hired beat the other big east coach we tried to hire 2 out of 3 times and has a lot better record then dooley did when he was hired. People are stupid sometimes!!!!

Greg Schiano and Doug Marrone parlayed being "just a big east coach" into NFL jobs.

Maybe the guy who beat Marrone like a drum during these past two years knows how to coach football too.

Let me guess, you thought Gruden was coming to town? if not, who would you rather have than a guy that wins conference championships at every stop?

the reality is most of the great coaching hires come from guys in similar spots to when we hired CBJ

that is the roughly the point in their career when urban meyer was hired at florida, Sumlin at A&M, Harbaugh at Stanford, Tressel at OSU

none of those guys had head coaching gigs bigger than Cincy before they landed their big boy job

there are just tons of examples of proven winners at lower levels being great hires for a big boy school

Well I would say goodbye to any of the top RB's we were going after now that Graham is gone. I hope I am wrong about this but I have a feeling we don't even get many 3* RB's in 2014.

Lol its not like we were busting down the doors for all the elite backs anyways. Green was the closest and he looked average in the UA game. We couldn't pull Ford there at the end.. We slow played Folston and Turman. And were never in it for Kamara, Dye, and Bryant. A lot of missed opportunities...

Graham got his claim to fame when he landed Lattimore and helped coach him up. Gillespie wasn't my #1 choice but we could have definitely done way worse.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this since its so early, but with so many names on the board right now and many more to pop up, here are 25 guys that I am kinda focused on following. These guys imo are all pretty realistic gets for us this cycle and I would love for our class to be made up of a large group coming from these core players. Obviously, I think we will take a QB and there is no DT listed, along with the need for more DL guys in general.

RB's
Jalen Hurd
Treyvon Paulk
Nick Chubb
Daryl Rollins

WR's
Vic Wharton
Neiko Creamer
Dominique Booth
Josh Malone

TE
Cole Cook
Bailey Lenoir

OL
Coleman Thomas
Dontavious Blair (Juco)
Matthew Pyke
Bruno Reagan

DL
Dewayne Hendrix

LB's
Dillon Bates
Kevin Mouhon
Greg Miclisse
Shaun Hamilton

DB's
Todd Kelly Jr
Elliot/Evan Berry
Rashaan Gaulden
Emmanuel Smith
Isaiah McDaniel

Like I mentioned, this is just a core group of guys I think we have the best shot at landing as of right now. It is heavy in-state, especially with the DB's, but that is a huge need and also would allow us to cherry pick out of state for guys to supplement this class. Tabor, Payne, Glass, guys like that would be great additions imo. Really concerned about the DL tho, we need some impact players and overall depth at that position in a bad way.

As many have previously stated, we are set up to have a great recruiting class with our in-state talent alone. A successful season by Butch and co. could really take this class to the next level. #RiseToTheTop

Thanks, just excited about where we are with our in-state talent for the most part. Then add the other legacies like Creamer and Bates, plus the staff connections with some Ohio area kids along with the Carolinas and Virginia. Can't wait to start hearing updates from spring practice, I think the positive energy around the program is going to finally pay off this year.

hey wu, i know your already doing a lot of work with this thread, but is there a way you can add this...

when a kid states that we are in his top 3, top 5, top 8, top 10, or lead.. etc, can you put that next to his name

I'll see what I can do. If it looks messy and unorganized though, I'll take the "less is more" approach.

I like the list a lot. I really think this year we have a much better chance at predicting the majority of the class because of the way its going to be structured. The part we will be off in my opinion is on the OL/DL. With the needs we have there I don't think that right now we are seeing anywhere near the number of players that come signing day, we will be in on.

Two players I probably should have added to my list are Matt Elam and Michael Sawyers at DT. I left them off, but I think both will be here this coming weekend.
