Lima (Ohio) Central Catholic 2014 four-star safety Darius West dropped me a note today saying coaches Stripling and Elder have been sending him regular mail since they arrived at Tennessee. Cincinnati had offered West before the staff went over to Tennessee and it looks like they are making him an early focus now that they are in Knoxville as well.

The Ohio connections are going to pay off with this staff. Lots of good players there.

I'll take a secondary haul of Warthon and West at Corner and Kelly JR and Emmanuel Smith at Safety plus the Berry Twins and that will do me just fine.

Can't be true, Ron. New staff only recruits 3-stars.

Your avatar makes me sick. If you want to find the root cause of UTAD look no further than the booger picker. Maybe you should leave it up as a reminder to everyone who the real culprit is.

I am afraid that Tabor will end up at Bamma and Singleton will end up at a florida school. If we can make a strong push since we have a new staff now for Gaulden then I will take him too but I am not counting on him either.

Thigpen was Tabor's recruiter at Auburn, that might help.

Junior Darius West continues to collect offers.
6-foot, 195 pound junior Darius West has added another Big Ten school to his list.
“Indiana is the newest school to offer me,” said the safety.West also holds offers from Purdue, Louisville, Illinois, Bowling Green, Akron and Toledo and has been hearing from other schools around the Midwest.

“Ohio State and Penn State are talking to me. I’m also hearing from the new Arkansas and Tennessee coaches.”
The safety is still in the early stages of his recruitment, but has begun thinking about what will be some of the most important factors when it’s time to make his decision. “First of all are the academics. Then I want to see how early I can play. I also want to make sure I’m around a good environment and good coaching staff. As for distance, if I have to go far, I need to be in love with the school. I’d need to know everything about it.”

“Next month I’m hoping to visit Notre Dame for their Junior Day,” said West. “I’m also going to try and visit Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Tennessee

"I'm going to visit Indiana and Michigan State and I'm going to Tennessee next Saturday," he explained. "Tennessee said they wanted to see me on campus before they would offer."

As for a time frame on a decision, West's recruitment is one that is likely going to go on for quite a while. With offers still coming in, the process of narrowing things down hasn't been easy.

"I'm trying to narrow it down but it's hard right now," West explained. "I probably won't make my decision until after my senior football season."

Tabor & Gaulden are Vols with a good season. Our stadium is the best in the nation to showcase your "talents". As soon as we show a pulse kids will be lining up to play here just like they used to. We've been close on kids who ultimately couldn't pull the trigger. We've not offered kids we should have. This staff is off to a good start and both of those problems will soon be a distant memory. My opinion of course, but you have to like the start of this class at least.

Gaulden is a lock but Tabor likes UF right now. Idk why that guy thinks he's going to Bama or why we would slip with Gaulden.

This is from ESPN.

He has visits planned to Indiana and Michigan and will be on Tennessee’s campus next Saturday.

West currently has offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Penn State, Purdue, Toledo, UCF, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.

Florida State, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Wisconsin are showing interest as well.

Just visited tOSU and he said he believes they are close to offering as well. I think he plans on visiting with the QB Barker and WR Booth this weekend.

My gosh how many DBs are we going to take

You know we can sign 30 this year, don't you? Expect (give or take) 1-2 QB's, 3 RB's, 4 WR's, 4 O-line, 2 TE's. Still have at least 15 to go for the D. So expect 6 or 7 to be DB's.
