'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

You keep deflecting evidence that we're right in the hunt and your only counter is "I just don't see it happening". I get it, you just can't imagine a program like ours beating out those schools for a 5* prospect, but it's not valid unless there's concrete evidence to count us out.

It's a message board. Just about everything on here is an opinion. Is one opinion more "valid" than another? Just because I don't spout off saying we are the sure leader for Adoree does not make my opinion less valid. I also did not "count us out". I mentioned 5%. :good!:

Other than distance, are there any other family connections with Tennessee? There seems to be some unspoken connection for the family with this state or school.

We're right there with everyone else at the top. If we have a 5% chance then everyone else has about the same. I'll only give UF the edge right now because Adoree really likes the program. But only SLIGHTLY more than he likes UT, but his parents are in his ear about Knoxville.

UT-39%
UF-41%
USC-5%
LSU-15%

..IMO.

Cuonzo Martin and I believe one of his assistants are close to his father. That's two more eyes that could be on their son, unless he continues to ship the bed and get's his arse canned.

Some have said that one of Cuonzo's assistant coaches are very close with Adoree's pops.

If Landon Collins mother had her way he would have UOV lsu 43 times and took an OV under 9 different names. Parents don't always win out no matter what they do or how hard they push something. I have just not bought into the "talk" that UT is a serious option for Adoree. Sure I hope I am wrong and he shocks everyone. I just don't see it happening.

I also find it funny that you bring up the one major situation where the mother didn't win out. Parents win this situation more often than not, and if they don't the kids have to go WAYYY out of their way like Alex Collins last year. Had to drive to his dads (who isn't really in his life) to get him to sign his LOI. I doubt that is the situation with Adoree. But again, to each his own. You keep hanging your hat on Collins^2, I'll stay in touch with reality.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned. Did anyone catch Jayson Swain this afternoon? Callahan was on The Swain Event and they spent a significant amout of the segment discussing AJ. Callahan mentioned that if Adoree trimmed his list to a top 3, he felt comfortable in saying UT would make the cut. I think that was in hour 2 of Swain's show from 1-21-14 if anyone wants to go back and listen.

OrangeHammer making me believe. Have you heard where he will take his OV too? Do you think he could change his mind and do a UOV here?

just another note to add: I was told that there was no way that the Jacksons could have spent as much emotional energy with other staffs as they did with ours. Apparently they went all out to impress our coaches, as did our coaches with their family. The words "felt like a big family bbq" were used, and being that it wasn't at Bruce Pearls house I'm pretty excited about it.

Doesn't seem weird when you compare how many times he's seen UF vs LSU.

I think TN is the only school where distance matters.

LSU/UF and USC are all really far from home.

So I don't buy that UF is over LSU due to distance, that is more because he just likes UF more than LSU.

Would you agree?

I dont pretend to know what a recruit or their family members are thinking. However if distance were the primary reason for LSU slipping in his recruitment to make it a two team race between Tn and Fla - something doesn't add up.

In reference to the distance to each school from Belleville, Illinois -

Knoxville 474 miles - about 7hrs and 30 minutes

Baton Rouge 648 miles - about 10 hrs and 22 min

Gainesville, Fl 874 miles - about 13 hrs and 52 min

These distances and times are from mapquest -

It's not his assistants but the director of basketball operations, Marco Harris. Apparently Harris and AJ's dad are close friends. Both from east St. Louis as is Cuonzo. Hubbs said Mr. Jackson and Zo know each other but aren't close like with Marco Harris.

Thanks for the back up, couldn't remember his name. Ron if CZO was to be let go (lol) would Marco remain on staff?

I don't think it was said that LSU slipped due to distance, not sure a reason was given why they slipped. Adam Gorney and VQ said that distance is a factor for the final 3 which they believe to be UF, UT and USC. So UF or UT make the most sense.
