'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

He can excel at track wherever he goes. I told you all weeks back that my guy said his friendship with Malone would pay dividends in the end, and I believe Butch and Co can convince his parents that early playing time and being the main focus on the track team just means more of him in the limelight.

I dont think he needs to reach out to him, just use him as an example that if you have elite speed it will be showcased no matter the school.

Just to be in it this late and still getting visits is amazing. We will be a hat on the table in the end and thats a victory in itself. I wont be mad either way.

Should have said "elite talent." Talent is noticed no matter the institution.

You're absolutely right. Track and field isn't exactly rocket science, especially for events like the long jump that don't require any endurance training. Jackson won't be doing any relay events, so the perceived weakness of our track and field team really shouldn't have any affect on his college decision. If he's serious about going to the Olympics, I'm sure he could get private sessions with world class training if he wanted it.

If it comes down to a purely football decision (as I suspect it will), I think we get him.

One of our track coaches already secured a commit from one of the best long jumpers in the country, so Im sure that helps. He has also never lost a recruit to LSU, neither here or at his last job.

The reason I suggested Justin Gatlin is not because I don't understand the difference in jumping and running. I just figure Gatlin is a living example of someone who played Tennessee football and also went on to be an Olympic gold medalist in a track and field event. Gold medalist. That's big. Justin Hunter is great too, but his story is more of football success story. I think together they could illustrate what's possible in either field of athletics at the University of Tennessee for duel sports athletes like Adoree.

Thank you Skullbone! AGREED!

I mean if we're being honest here and track was the only factor, UF would be his best bet. But that football program looks to be a mess to everyone but UF fans. Same crap we went through a few years ago.

1)UT football is on the way back up.
2)Closer to home.
3)UT has had a Olympic medalist in track that also played football at the university. Not sure on LSU. I think Demps medaled at London also.

Not sure on LSU.

The last one at LSU to be dual with track was Trindon Holliday, but there have been quite a few Xavier Carter also did both for a short period time. Brazil was suppose to be dual this year but he has been booted from the team. Holliday and Carter both missed out on the Olympics in 2008.

Interesting. Tell us more. Is it good, bad, or indifferent to have another elite long jumper on the T&F team if you haven't verbally pledged?

If he goes to LSU or Florida, I hope he fields punts about as well as Holliday! :)

To be honest I'm not a T&F guy, so I don't know. What I do know is if we're getting that kind of talent then he must trust his ability to coach him up and get him competing for medals. This guy is recruiting Adoree along side CBJ and Co. I like our chances here, but his recruitment seems to fluctuate with each day that passes. Having an in home and personal time with he and his family is def a positive for us.

Cool thanks for sharing. Who is this guy?

Pee Wee works with the UF guys at IMG. AJ wont find a better combo of track coaching and training than UF & IMG.
