'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

With Pease being out there and Wilcox trying to get a head gig somewhere, gotta make you wonder what Tosh is being promised. Sirmon probably jumped the gun signing on with USC.

Sirmon could bounce if he wants. I doubt any contract has even begun to be formed, let alone, signed

I’d say they already have some memorandums of understanding if they are talking about them publicly.

I’m sure UdubU and BSU are doing some backdoor negotiations for the remnants of the Sark staff. And who knows what Peterson’s bringing with him? Like I said, Pease is still in the wind.

Do any of our resident Volnation DB gurus share this opinion? I had always been led to believe from the hype on AJ, that he is a "can't miss" program changing type of CB. I am confused now. All I have ever heard is how awesome at corner this guy is.

No. Adoree jackson reminds me of Deion Sanders. You don't have to be Richard Shermans size to be a great corner. Adoree can break on the ball faster than anybody I've seen in this class. He has football instincts. Then whe n he gets the ball in his hands its dangerous. Crazy athletic ability. Great DB footwork.

OK. Where to start?

#1 rated CB by Rivals.

Same height as Darrelle Revis with comparable to better speed and much better ball skills. Will gain strength in the S&C program.

Really good CB's break on the ball as much as they make a play on the receiver. They rarely square up and tackle a guy head up. The position relies on reaction, quickness, aggressiveness and vertical jumping abilities. Check.

Bonus - excellent returner and receiver.

Whoever gets this guy gets a stud.

I love guys that say kids are studs... it's so strange to me. You have every right to your opinion but...

Rivals also had Russell Shepard #1 QB in 2009 yet he would never ever in a 1000 years beat out Jordan Jefferson who was ranked the #8 ranked QB in 2008... yet he was probably the #800 rated QB to me, so that puts Shepard somewhere around #801+ in reality true ranking.

Not going to happen. IMHO Which is why he some schools are not even bothering to offer on D, and why many scouting services have listed him as an Athlete. So, it's not like I am saying anything others haven't spoken about.... it's pretty obvious on film or at least to Me. IMHO

I seriously doubt he would ever get off the bench at LSU at corner, now or in the future. If you can't fight threw blocks and knock the crap out of someone.... good luck getting to play during practice ie Maclin.... powder puff football.

I am sure I could be wrong just like everyone is wrong from time to time but I just don't see it. It's just one person's POV, nothing more, nothing less. We'll see...

Of the main 4 ( Rivals, 247, Scout, and ESPN), only Rivals has him listed as an athlete, the other three have him at CB
Edit: in response to LSU-SIU

There aren't that many corners that are great tacklers. They are there to cover WRs primarily and he is a playmaker when it comes to that.

It's strange to me that people take one player/coach from the past and compare it against a given current situation. We do it here with Saban all the time.

Truth is this kid may or may not be the next best thing at CB. But Shepard/Jefferson thing has nothing to do with it.

He definitely did the Gator chomp after the TD, but was wearing UCLA gloves while he did it. I guess he looked at the Florida coaches when he did it.

This kid is just eating up recruiting...

No one has any idea where he's going to end up, and he's playing his hand masterfully

Well at least your up front about stating that this is your opinion as opposed to stating this as a matter of fact. After saying that, though, I humbly disagree. I remember when they had Russell Shepard rated really high. He was rated like that based on upside. When people are rated on upside a lot of times they turn out to be a complete flop because they never reach what the analysts thought they would be. I don't feel like Jackson is rated on upside at all. He plays elite competition in California and I see no reason that his talents shouldn't transfer over to the college game very well. It looks like the recruiting analysts feel the same way. His playmaker ability is off the charts. He''ll start day 1 if he comes to Tennessee and I'd be willling to bet that he would start just about anywhere day 1.

We are in this big time. You dont send your offensive Coordinator and some staff. Then the next week and your defensive coordinator and staff all the way out to California if there is not a good chance you get him. USC is on the outside looking in. We are in the thick of this right beside LSU. He likes UT alot

BOOM!! Matt, what positions are we selling him playing time on defense and offense?

The replay I saw wasn't him doing the chomp although he did celebrate but maybe I missed it.
