JHop predicted Jackson to USC yesterday on 247. USC has gained a lot of momentum recently compared to the summer and early in the season.

USC should hire Ed Orgeron as HC. He has done a great job as interim head coach. He is scum but he has turned the Kiffin mess around and has USC playing very good ball.

Do you think Orgeron may have been the "cancer" in Kiffin's locker room? Sure seems to have influence over that team. Just remember when times are tough that not everyone who says they're trying to help really is.

Couldn't imagine adding Jackson to this class... guy has pure game changing ability. Not to mention, pulling the #1 player out of Cali.

I think finishing the season strong and making it to a bowl game will be a must, if they're gonna have any shot at all of landing him...



That being said. If we do finish strong I wouldn't count Butch out. Anything can happen during those in-home visits.

Coach O has injected some energy into that program. Energy that in a year or 2 will wear thin just like it did at Ole Miss. If they hire him, USC gets what they deserve.

I think we are behind USC - but i can see this orgeron thing being an X factor. What if pat haden makes a change before NSD and creates a tailspin - can butch be a benefactor?

I will be shocked if Orgeron is retained. There are too many top tier coaches that would love that job. He'll get the obligatory look and a nice parting bonus when the new coach brings in new coordinators.

I agree - but it is interesting.... What if he wins out and then gets canned and the next coach does crap next year - haden could be putting his neck out there.

I think it would really help our chances if Haden hired someone who didn't keep Orgeron. I think an offensive minded coach like Sumlin would probably keep him on staff, but I could see someone like Del Rio cleaning house and bringing in a new staff. If Del Rio gets the job (and I think he is the most likely candidate at this point), then I think we have a great chance at landing Jackson. Especially, if Orgeron ends up being let go.

I think so too - but if butch gets to a bowl (which i think he will) - you gotta be concerned about UF and muschamp if you are a recruit. That fanbase is about to implode...
