'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

Just read the vq article. Kid knows how to play the recruiting game. He said some good things about ut. We are in the mix but its hard to tell with this guy. I just know we really need him, and the coaches made sure they got that point across to him. He's just as important as any dt left on the board IMO.

There's nothing wrong with our defensive coordinator.

I'd like to see you guys do a better job when playing with only 1 lb, 0 DBS, and 1 Dt.

So that's what it is! We only have 2 guys playing defense now, and had 14 under Dooley against LSU. The number one requirement for coaching should be the ability to count to 11 :)

He's a liability

agree he is a liability

imo more like we have 2 DB's that are proven SEC caliber players on a good team

our other S, other corner, nickel corner, both OLB, MLB, DE's, or DT's leave a lot to be desired and are #2 in the 2 deep on most quality SEC defenses

big dan would start on some 3-4 teams but this D is not a great fit for him

been saying that for weeks. Sutton and a healthy Randolph are good SEC db's. The rest of the 2 deep is not good and not one SEC coach would trade 2 deep personnel with us.
In a couple of years, it will be a different story and our talent and speed will be the envy of other SEC teams.

There's still no excuse what Jancek did at UGA with that talent. Hope he will be better here...

Sad part is that Mac could be great, but Hubbs and fort have said more than once coaches have to light a fire under him to motivate him. Love to see his size matched with an evil and unholy motor

It sure seems to be looking that way - hopefully Adoree will jump on board - that would be a pretty sick corner combo with he and sutton - nasty

He was co DC for 1 year. That's it.
He was lb coach the years prior. They won 48 games, an SEC championship and finished top 10 3 times during his 5 years.

I don't mind any opinions of jancek's tenure there or so far here, but don't know where some information comes from.

I didn't know this. So why was he co-defensive coordinator? I see on Willie Martinez's bio that he was UGA DC from 2005-2009, so was Martinez fired mid-year in 2009 and Jacek and some other guy split the defensive coordinator duties?

That 05-09 we put up some huge numbers on UGA.

sounds like a clusterfiznit from the top to me. You can't have co DC's, much less, I think both of them may have still been in their 30's and lacked experience.
Every team will have bad games. I just think people think about a couple of plays or one game and assume something, rather than looking at the wins, SEC champ, and top 10 finishes.

I agree that we should judge jancek based on what he did as DC of Cincy - i don't remember how it all went down but WM was the DC for several years prior so my guess is this was not "his defense" he was full DC only in 2012 at cincy to my knowledge - co DC in 2010 and 2011 and they had capable defenses

more importantly CBJ is intimately aware of him and his abilities - its not like he hired him from another school on a recommendation or took a chance on an up and comer - he knows exactly what he is capable of, had the $$ to get a lot of guys and chose Jancek so CBJ seems to think he has some ability as a DC

IIRC, Jancek and Martinez were Co-DC's their final year at UGA after being position coaches for a handful of years. But Martinez called the plays not Jancek. Anyone confirm that?
