'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

You know what? I can't argue with that honestly. You very well could be right. We have sucked for so long it seems, I think it's given a lot of Vol fans a bit of an inferiority complex and it's like we're sittin' around here thinking that we don't deserve to be in this position! We ARE a top 10 program damnit! Thanks for reminding me of that!

Brave, I don't want to offend you or anyone else in any way because yeah this is, at the moment, the best class we've had in a while - BUT - it's early in the process so it's likely a few teams on our six are probably going to sail right by us in the class rankings before NSD. I say probably because at present we are limited by the current ratings of our talent. Some of our talent may well get a bump after their upcoming seasons; some may actually drop. In any event our No. 1 spot is partly due to numbers and partly due to the talent mix.

The #1 class for the last 5 years has averaged (3) 6.1's, (3.2) 6.0's, (4.6) 5.9's, (6.2) 5.8's, (4.8) 5.7's, (2.6) 5.6's, and 1 less than 3-star. That class has been Alabama for 4 of the past 5 years. Our class this year is increasingly competitive with that but we still have a ways to go and our roster needs that year in and year out. People who have long followed this program (decades) expect that and demand that. It is largely the reason we've had so many recent coaching changes. There's a lot of optimism now that we may have someone who will get the job done. The evidence so far is very very encouraging. As others have projected and many are missing its most likely that absent some major changes in our class composition and/or the individual ratings on each player the end result is going to show that we perhaps have a solid top 10 class. Hell that's not surprising at all.

Kiffen had the #10 class. Dooley's first class was #9, the second fell to #13, followed by a drop to #17 and last year's class was #21. What's worse about all of that is that out of 54 players ranked 5.8 or above by rivals from those classes, only 28 are on the roster today. By going early and getting who you want and those who want you, you don't wait to take a chance on the ones no one else really wanted. I like the way this is going and the "vibe" is a much welcomed change.

The funny thing is that people on here were claiming OM had to cheat to get there class last year. It was all circumstances, and I said months ago that our class this year could be like theirs.

No one is cheating. We both have charismatic, good football coaches. Both schools have much to offer, and both happened to have legacies and/or players with connections who are highly rated.

First, I don't believe it was "thousands of dollars." Second, Treadwell has a teammate at OM. Just because a player shows some money doesn't mean he was paid. I am not naive enough to think it doesn't happen, but it happens everywhere. Big time schools also find a way to get players money under the rules. Freeze asked that all complaints be emailed, and everything was investigated. I have no interest in OM, but I think that argument about their class is silly.

Butch is going to win this one, IMO.

I think some of these big time guys are wanting to see the product on the field. They seem to love everything they're seeing but want to make sure the play lives up to everything else. If we have a decent, exciting season some of these guys may pull the trigger. JMO

Do you guys think we're cheating or something? Never seen this before, I just hope we are doing this legally. Somethings definitely goin on

Naw. It has to do with our current commits and players helping out I'm recruiting. It also helps to have coaches intelligent enough to recruit like coach Butch

That was actually crazy because when I first walked in they all started clapping and I was shocked and I was walked in and everybody was clapping and waiting for me and so I shook their hands and gave them some hugs," Jackson said Sunday after his visit. "It was just a great welcome. I've never seen that, ever. That does stick out to me a lot."

"It was exciting. It was very fun to be up here," Jackson said. "It was different from all my other visits I guess you could say. Just spending time with the coaches and players and just having fun and relaxing and seeing some current players that are here, it was just a good experience."

"It was unexpected for me. I thought we were just going to sit around like a junior day like everyone else does it," Jackson said. "So, it was just a fun time hanging out with everyone and laughing and making jokes and stuff like that."

"For me they said whichever place I'd want to play first. If I want to do offense and part-time (defense) or if I want to do defense and part-time offense. Basically I think I'd do 'D' and part-time offense the more I see the schemes and stuff," Jackson said. "Being a corner, schools don't really have good corners that stand out. Everybody has a good receiver that sticks out and I want to be a dynamic player and use me on both sides of the ball to get me touches and that's what I like about it."
why I want to do special teams as well and if a school lets me do what I'm good at at Serra and doing it here, I like that."

thats what i like to hear

dude's a playmaker on both sides of the ball (obvious I know). Would love to have him returning punts here as well. He balled out with them in his highlights

What's got you sold Ron?

I just feel like this is the perfect fit for what Adoree is looking for and this weekend showed him that UT is for real. The staff is for real and Butch is building something special. Plus it's close to his family in Illinois. Just feels like he'll be a Vol on NSD. Hope I'm right.
