'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

Not going to lie, this same thought occurred to me. If anything, I would think this is going to send a red flag to the NCAA. Going from 5-7 and having a brand new, relatively unknown head coach, to now having the #1 recruiting class in the country DOES seem suspicious.

Lol. Come on now. The real question is why we haven't been this hot in years passed. In the words of the great Inky Johnson "This is a top ten program, man this is TENNESSEE! We don't take a backseat to NOBODY!"

Some of y'all are so accustomed to negativity to realize this is exactly what we should be doing. This isn't some oasis in the middle of the desert mirage. This is what Tennessee does man. Only one team in the world has won more SEC championships than us, we are the class of the SEC despite the recent struggles. Stop with the we must be cheating BS, that's weak as hell.

Some of ya'll need a history lesson. Remember this class? Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2007 Tennessee Commitments

Yeah, there were a lot of busts in there, but we had five 5*s and eleven 4*s. Point being, it's not like UT pulling in a highly ranked class is unusual. It's more like we're getting back to where we used to be.

As for how Butch and co. are doing it--don't underestimate the impact of the early commitments, especially TK Jr and Hurd. Having a very high 4* and a 5* praising the new coach builds a lot of legitimacy in the eyes of other recruits. Much harder to sell the program to top dogs when you don't have anyone else of their caliber committed.

Didn't someone say he stayed at TKJ's last night along with D Payne? If so, I wonder how they clicked. I hope they hit it off and had talks about how dominant the secondary would be with them playing together (Gaulden & McDowell too). Just thinking about the possibility gives me chills.

Butch Jones' peanut butter > Dooley's asparagus.

The thought of our secondary full of 4&5 stars

He said he was surprised by his visit to Tennessee and had a really good time and the Vols really helped themselves with the visit. He was impressed with Jones and the staff and was able to speak with the track coach.

I spoke a few minutes ago with five-star cornerback Adoree' Jackson, who visited Tennessee last night and today. Jackson said the visit definitely lived up to the hype and helped the Vols' chances, and they're definitely in the running for one of his five official visits. But he's still not planning to decide until signing day.

Longtime to work this relationship.

Off to a great start here.

Good lord we are Tennessee not freakin Ole Miss, we have won championships and had great recruiting classes before. All teams go through cycles, bama in the 90's,LSU many times and so on.The big teams in the SEC always come back, just look at the history if LSU,UGA,Bama,UT amd the barn. We have tradition and great facilities and great resources for ath and academics, it doesn't take cheating when you have all those so I doubt the only eyebrows going to be raised by the NCAA is when we are holding the championship trophy again here in a few more years.

THIS!!!!!! GO VOLS!! The sleepin Giant is awake and hungry!!!!

Nice, glad they got the track coach involved, thats important.

Also his dad came and thats important.

This could go a long way. Hopefully he clicked with TKjr and Payne.

Agree. Too bad our track program isn't what it used to be but maybe the track coach can sell him on getting it back to where it was like Butch is selling to our football recruits.

Also, I think how well he clicked with TKj and Payne will be very important because that seems to be a tight group with those two, Hurd, Gaulden, and the others. It'll be interesting going forward to see them communicate on twitter. If it seems like they really hit it off that'll be huge, imo, and maybe an indicator on where he's leaning.

Regardless, just getting him on campus was big and from the pics I saw it looked like him and his father were having a good time.

You know what? I can't argue with that honestly. You very well could be right. We have sucked for so long it seems, I think it's given a lot of Vol fans a bit of an inferiority complex and it's like we're sittin' around here thinking that we don't deserve to be in this position! We ARE a top 10 program damnit! Thanks for reminding me of that!

Adoree is the type of headline grabbing get this class needs to truly be elite. I love the class and its a great one without him, but if we get him it puts this class on another level altogether.

He's brand new to us. He hasn't coached the first game here at UT, so recruits have nothing to go on in terms of his SEC coaching ability.

What I meant by "unknown" was that he's not an established name like Saban, or Meyer. If either one of those guys were our head coach, a #1 class would be understandable.

Look I hope what you're saying is the truth. I really do. I just think going from 5 years of being in the pits with this program to suddenly having the #1 class in the country seems highly suspicious.

Having half the class be instate or legacies makes a big difference.

Ole Miss does not have a 100,000 seat stadium or the best football practice facility in the country. We do.

This can't be a serious post. Have you bothered to look at the finishes of our classes in the last five years? As bad as we've been, our classes have consistently been in or near the top 15, with one or two in or the top 10. Going to number 1 from, say, number 15 isn't that suspicious, particularly given we've landed top 5 classes in the not too distant past.
