'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

Ole Miss finishing with a top 5 class last year was a lot more suspicious than us currently leading in rankings.

I agree...we are going into the season 5 months before signing day NSD....does not look suspicious at all...Ole Miss success looks more suspicious because it came out of the clear blue.....

We aren't like Ole Miss. We have a tradition of winning and fantastic facilities and fans. All this does is show me how bad Dooley really was. Jones is just outworking people and he has a LOT to sell.

Not going to lie, this same thought occurred to me. If anything, I would think this is going to send a red flag to the NCAA. Going from 5-7 and having a brand new, relatively unknown head coach, to now having the #1 recruiting class in the country DOES seem suspicious.

The coach is not "brand new" and he is known to the NCAA as not having a record of problems and he has a winning record everywhere he's been. The only school where any complaints are coming from is Vandy and that's because we are sinking their boat in recruiting! Kids are coming here, liking what they see and kids already committed are pushing to make this a great class and helping to bring in more commits.

...and I would point out that as HORRIBLE as Dooley was he still managed top 20 recruiting classes just because we are TENNESSEE

just look at TK and J.Hurd's tweets and you can sense that is important to them as well...it may not be the end all be all, but it has to help with the strong family types... who else better to send your kid to for the next 4 years? there should be an automatic ban for the person who says Mark Richt too...:good!:

In addition to good parents wanting their kids to be in the care of men of character, I suspect that Butch wants kids from a strong family environment and those with good relationships with their parents. Coaching is inherently correction and discipline. Kids that get along well with their parents tend to accept correction more readily, and that translates to kids that can be coached.

That isn't to say that kids from bad homes won't, but, the willingness to submit must be borne from respect for those doing the coaching. I have been very impressed at how much "yes sir" and "no sir" I hear from some of our commits. These are good kids that are going to do very well...and that's not even considering their crazy amounts of talent.

The thing with Ole Miss' success in recruiting last year was Freeze had/has a prior reputation for being dirty going back to when he was under Orgeron at OM. Someone may be able to shed some light on his past but I remember plenty of talk about him being shady leading up to nsd this year. Plus it's Ole Miss. They don't have the tradition, facilities, etc UT has. CBJ doesn't have a reputation like that. Everything I've heard and read about Butch's past has been nothing but positive and I think that's one of the biggest differences.

He's brand new to us. He hasn't coached the first game here at UT, so recruits have nothing to go on in terms of his SEC coaching ability.

What I meant by "unknown" was that he's not an established name like Saban, or Meyer. If either one of those guys were our head coach, a #1 class would be understandable.

Look I hope what you're saying is the truth. I really do. I just think going from 5 years of being in the pits with this program to suddenly having the #1 class in the country seems highly suspicious.

Butch Jones gets it, the recruits get it.....why can't you. It's about leadership....Has nothing to do with whether or not he has coach a game in the SEC or not...

He will soon....although he has never been on this stage before....he will soon be....I guess you could say he has Risen to the Top as a coach....

He accepted the challenge that several failed at and several would not even attempt.....Time will tell...for sure

If I were a betting man which I am I would be betting on CBJ....

Do most of us a favor and quit looking at the negative aspects of where we find ourselves at the moment....

MOJO is coming back....Soon with Swagger.

CBJ is not going to accept Mediocrity....

It seems you're grasping here.

With all the highly rated players we have a legit shot at. Adoree is the guy I want the most in this class I feel like he's a game changer in the secondary. But after him I'd say Blair or Garrett.

Quite surprised at his interest in us.

Having him on campus is like a dream.

Can't imagine what it will be like if he commits to us.

OTOH, Butch gets who Butch wants and you know the rest...

We have the number 1 class in the country but it will not be number 1 when all is said and done. I am as thrilled about this class as any and I think the job CBJ is doing in recruiting is top notch, but the type of guys we are getting are not the super high profile, sketchy type of guys that would make you seem like you would have to throw bucks their way to get them like when Kiffin was head coach. I think the guys we have are all very solid recruits but we are not getting the type that would make you think sketchy practices are going on like Ole Mi$$ last year. I think that with how hard this staff and recruits are working on these guys, and with our tradition, facilities, gameday atmosphere, and being in the SEC should all elicit such a class. I people around the country realize that even as bas as we've been lately, there's only so long that this giant will be down and it is time for us to finally make our comeback.

John Plattenburg Jr. John Plattenburg Jr. just commented on a pic of Adoree holding the crystal ball saying "Bro how is it so far, I might head up there" Im sure this means nothing but...
