'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

This kid is one of those rare PROGRAM changers.Would be HUGE to land him.IMO

Gotta disagree with you. No CB is a program changer. Not even Eric Berry was not enough to change our program. He helped it not go down as fast, but at the end of the day, Jackson is a player on a defense that can only make plays when the ball
Comes his way. I wouldn't label any one player a program changer, unless maybe they were a QB. QBs touch the ball every snap. I believe in game changers but not program changers. Butch Jones is a program
Changer. But no one player. That being said, I would love to have Adoree'.

A player can in fact be a program....if they are a game changer that means they probably influenced the results of a game with their play.....if they help win 2 games more than expected, then that creates an upswing and a buzz around the program that can help with recruiting and u can continue to build off of that.

And people that influenced some games with their play would be Eric Berry, Cordarrelle Patterson (wouldve prob lost another game without him), Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, Darren McFadden, Knowshon Moreno, and Tim Tebow....All played huge parts in their programs success on teams that wouldve probably not won as much without them....players like that can take a program from mediocrity to greatness(granted there are 11 on the dield at the time but that one playmaker could be the difference

I think his point was that a CB is not usually a program changer, simply due to the nature of the position.

You forgot Cam Newton who pretty much won a championship by himself

I just don't believe in program changers when it comes to players. I believe in perception changers, but as we at UT know well, coaches are the only ones that really change
programs. No one player has raised UT or sunk UT. It is a collective work. A player may garner attention for a program like Case Keenum for Houston or Bobby Rainey for WKU but normally that success is short lived and the program is back to where the money donated allows it to be at. Tebow didn't change Floridas program. He became
A highlight in Floridas history but didn't change their program. I just don't like the term program changer for players. Only should apply to coaches, and even then, programs are limited by how much
Money is put into them.

I can't think of a CB who I would characterize as a "program changer." Can you toss out a name?

Antonio Langham

Pick Six against Auburn and then Florida in the first SEC Championship Game.

Though I guess he kinda screwed up after. But one CB can definitely be a program changer. It only takes one or two plays. Matheiu seemed to ALWAYS make huge plays that one season as well.

RG3? I'd venture that if he had played ball at Oklahoma Baylor would be in a VERY different place program wise. He basically forced that team into huge victories. Not to say they weren't successful last year but you get what I'm saying.

Patrick peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, Deon Sanders...changing one season can send a program.into an upswing.....by influencing a season u must influence the results of a few games....u can influence a game by simply shuuting down their main WR....forcing them to run or throw to some one they dont prefer to throw to......Eric Berry was a DB that was a program changer because we wouldnt have went to atlanta without him and prob wouldnt have went 7-6 in 09

"Program changer" to me means you alter the course of the program for multiple years even after you leave. I.e. if some kid shows up at Vandy this year, wins the heisman and carries them to a NC and they end up being good for 5 or 6 year.

I really don't think there are "program changing" athletes, I think the program is on the coaches.

Cam Newton had the potential to do it but Auburn coaches screwed the pooch.

Mathieu influenced his one season but Miles already had LSU rolling.

Jacob Hester and Matt Mauk might be considered in the discussion. LSU was at a cross roads and they could have lost like 5 games that season but instead won a NC. I'm sure that helped their program a lot. Still, Miles had to keep it rolling.

I don't care who you are talking about, there is not a single player that is a program changer...game changer, yes, but not a program changer. However, an entire recruiting class can be a program changer, which IMO the 2014 class will be ours. Adoree can come be a game changer in a program changing class.

This mirrors my thoughts exactly.
