'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

I doubt Adoree' reads the Orlando news but I am sure the talk of Lane Kiffin being in the hot seat is all over the news out in CA.

"They told me they wanted me to play DB, but to keep it 100, I'm one of the best receivers out here," Jackson told InsideTennessee. "I know that. With my skill set, I'm going to go get that ball. I like to compete so that's how I separate myself from everybody else. You might be a great receiver, but I'm going to compete and go for the ball, even if the quarterback throws me a bad pass. I'm going to go after it and try to get it."

"Yeah, Tennessee is still in the mix," Jackson said. "I should be down there this summer but I don't know. It depends on how I'm feeling when I get home when I go back to visit in the north if I feel like going on these trips and getting away from my family.

"I'm supposed to be taking like 2-3 trips, but I've only got 2-3 weeks out there, so I don't know if I want to mix it up like that."

"I don't care if it's Pac 12, Big 12, WAC," the Serra High School star said. "I don't care. I just want to have fun, go out there and compete and lift my team up. I don't care if I'm not the man if someone else is just as good as me, for defense side, another great safety or another great corner. Like LSU, everybody on there is great. I just want to have fun, play ball and compete. That's all I like to do."

This guy is sounding a lot less interested than he was. Putting him back in the pipe dream pile, personally.

Never felt we had a very good chance of getting him. He likes the spotlight and recruits are learning that if they just mention Tennessee, the fans get all giddy. I was going to wait till he actually visited before thinking we even had a chance.

Does that quote say that OUR coaches wanted him to play DB?

Not sure what our coaches were recruiting him as when it all started. I did see an interview he did where he is telling coaches that he now wants to play on offense. Maybe that is why the coaches asked Booth to wait as Jackson would be a slot guy. Hope that is not the case because a sure Booth now VS a 2% wildcard chance at Jackson months down the road is not a good risk to take IMO.

Scotty's new favorite recruit.

1. I wish our staff would allow him a shot at WR. I feel like that would up our chances with him if we at least gave him a chance at it.

2. I think he will get on campus. But I don't think he will be a Vol.

Kiffy is beginning his last season as a head coach.

...last season as head coach at USC. With his charmed luck he will probably go 5-7 and land some unbelievable NFL HC job. Resume doesn't seem to matter much when it comes to Kiffy getting a job.

Like the Alexander kid from last year.

I'm sure he's a great talent, but it sounds like he has an 'all me' personality instead of a team first one. Don't get me wrong, if he wanted to come here he's a take all day. Just think we would be better suited to get guys that by into a team philosophy in the long run.

read WuTangs post on the previous page. post #558. he said he doesnt care if hes "the man"

I stand corrected. Sounds like he's the ultimate team guy. The problem for us is that he seems indifferent as to what conference he plays in. That quote implies he doesn't seem to want to spend too much time traveling for visits.
