'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

By bumping this you just pushed another important recruit onto Page 2. Nice job, a-hole.

Unless that player was Bates (it wasn't) or Garret (it wasn't), I really don't think it's quite the same as having Adoree Jackson on page 2. Top 15 players off of page one should either be obvious losses or already committed.

since you want to talk about Adoree Jackson so much, go ahead and tell us how long he should sit the bench and how much weight he should gain before we make him move positions... since thats what you seem to do

If any player's thread is on page 2, there's nothing immediate concerning the player to talk about. It gets annoying as hell scanning the forum, clicking on a player's thread thinking there's an update, and then finding not news related to the player, but fans padding their post count by adding more worthless content to the discussion. It's why this place is getting worse and worse.

I'm just a passionate fan who likes to discuss things on a public forum. Sorry that is such a sin. I appreciate all you bring to the board, and I do not go out and attack your posts, so there is no need to attack me. I'm sure if I was a guy who had access to all the camps and had more than highlight clips and reported measurables to go on, I could give more to the board. Alas, I don't. That doesn't make me an idiot, nor does it make my thoughts any less than anyone elses. If you aren't willing to talk to me as an equal and not just bash what I post, the ignore button is right there. I, however, will still keep watch and value what YOU bring to the board.

Looks to me like there are plenty of threads with no news that stay on page one with no news at all. Clifton Garrett, Dillon Bates, last year's Carl Lawson, the Gaulden thread is always up there, as are a multitude of other players. Pardon me for using my time promoting the recruitment of a top 5 player.

You know, it's just as annoying when people bash you for doing what 80% of the rest of the site does. I'm sorry for offending anyone by doing, saying, or acting any certain way, but I'll apoligize for whatever offenses I have given to any posters. I'm not here to piss everyone off, I'm here to discuss Tennessee football, and if there is anything on here I could do that would help them be number 1 each year, well I'll be damned I'm going to do it.

You get a pass this time, but just don't let it happen again :) but for future reference people won't get upset if, instead of saying: "bump this player shouldn't be on page 2", you bump their thread by starting a discussion of some sort like you attempted to do after your initial bump that essentially said nothing. Maybe bump it by saying what aspects of his game you like or dislike, or, like you said later, by comparing his game or traits to a player or recent prospect who was also highly rated.

Not trying to tell you what to do, just letting you know what might receive a warmer welcome and provoke a discussion of some sort.

That was the great part was that I wasn't even the original person who bumped the thread this time. But it really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. It does shock me that a player of Jackson's caliber isn't being talked about more. Thus, I defer back to my discussion post. I wish I had emotes on my mobile. Would help me not sound like an arrogant a-hole. I'm more of a really smart goof than anything.

Ah sorry I didn't realize you weren't even the person who said "bump" in the 1st place until you said that. :hi:. But you didn't come across as arrogant in your posts IMO. Everyone was just already all annoyed by the initial meaningless bump so they weren't going to add to the discussion even if they had something that they wanted to say pertaining to your post. Ahh the ebbs and flows of VN. :)

True, it is getting bad

Adore, pretty much is at the top of my "uncommitted player wish list "

Or, how far along is this guy in the decision-making process? Has he established a top-5 and are we in it? How realistic a shot do we have at signing him? Has he given any indication that he wants to stay on the left coast or is he open to playing football in the SEC? All of which are questions about which I would be interested in learning more, since this guy is one prospect who, until now, I have not followed closely.

He has a top 10, we are in it, but realistically top 5 look to be USC, UCLA, Florida, Tennessee, and either Oregon or Illinois. Will take visits to Tennessee and Florida in July, then cut to a top 5, as well as a decision between staying west or going SEC. Realistically, Adoree is a very wide open recruit showing high interest in USC, Tennessee, and Florida. He is looking at a visit on the big July 21st weekend, so we have a very realistic shot with him.

No place I'd rather be.

Fsu is involved as well.

From an ESPN article #BlueChipBattles

Commitment status: Jackson released a final 10 recently, plans to eventually narrow his list to five and take all his official trips before announcing his decision on signing day.

Who's in the driver's seat: There has been plenty of buzz about Florida and Michigan with Jackson.

Other candidates: Florida State and Tennessee have done very well recruiting Jackson in what is shaping up to be a terrific recruiting battle.

Dark horse: UCLA

Most recent visit: Jackson has been to USC numerous times but would like to get out to other schools this summer. Tennessee is the one school he consistently mentions wanting to visit unofficially.

In his words: "For me with Michigan, it's close to home, a great program with tradition. I know about them from being in Illinois. You know the Big Ten, with Michigan and Ohio State. And they produce good players as well."

@EMcKinneyESPN's take: There is still plenty of time in the race for Jackson, but at this point, it seems as though it will be a long shot to keep him in California, the state that he plays his high school football in but doesn't consider home. The Illinois native consistently mentions where he is originally from and likes the atmosphere and football closer to that location, both in the Big Ten and the SEC. A huge season from UCLA or USC could grab his attention, but Florida, Florida State, Michigan and Tennessee seem to have a ton of momentum with Jackson.

Look, kid, you really mean to tell me the 50 threads ahead of his all contained important news about more important prospects than Jackson? Following his bump to page 1 we have had more discussion of where we stand. That is all I was trying to do. Grow up a little and save your disparaging remarks for people who REALLY do something offensive.

I guess Freak needs to increase the amount of recruits listed per page so we don't have to have the meaningless bumps and then the ensuing debate about it.

The good thing about it is at least we're having this argument this year. I dont recall anyone getting upset about another one of Dooley's 2 or 3* diamond in the rough recruits slipping to the second page of this forum lol.

The bump to page 1 has nothing to do with discussion. There was an update on his status by a recruiting website. T

Whenever new info is released, the appropriate thread will be updated within minutes, sometimes even seconds

the only thing more annoying then bumps are the 10 posts afterwards complaining about it..

Which inevitably bumps it... Like I'm doing right now. It's a bittersweet, vicious cycle apparently that really bothers some people. It really bothered Sambeydu who complained to freak and got last years threads put on lockdown.
