'14 CA CB Adoree' Jackson (Signed with USC)

I've heard he wants to play WR first, and if that doesn't work out he'd move to CB. So, shouldn't we be looking at their WR depth if that's where he is going to play?

Someone posted his comments a few pages back following his visit but I'm too lazy to find it. I do know Adoree himself said in the comments that CBJ said he could:

1) start out at full time defense and part time offense

2) start out full time offense and part time defense

Adoree said choice 1....his reason being something along the line of the value of dominant CBs being higher. Keep in mind dude will probably play special teams too...I think he actually wants to.

Yes he said he would play defense and get in some offensive sets. No way this guy is full time offense. He is too good as a defensive
Player. He knows the value of a good CB on the pro level

Jacksons a competitive guy. You tell him VHIII is a better CB he seems like he'd commit to Florida just to prove you wrong. Guy has no fear of anybody being better.

I think it'll be in the same vein as AJ Johnson how he was "part-time offense" as in 3-4 plays per game.

Size-Strength-Speed
Has modest size but excellent speed and burst. A fast-twitched athlete who goes 0-to-60 in a hurry on offense making him a dangerous threat with the ball in his hands and equally valuable on defense with his ability to recover and limit receiver separation.

Instincts/Recognition
Shows savvy mid-pointing high-low routes in zone schemes, reading the quarterback's eyes and quickly closing on the football. While he does not project as a hard Cover 2 corner required to consistently jam and set the edge, he does possess some surprising physicality. Will close hard, arrive with the ball and collision receivers with explosive pop from his lower-body.

Coverage Skills
Most likely a corner at the next level with his elite foot quickness, loose hips and smooth transitional skills. Natural, fluid athlete. Smooth changing directions and shows ability to quickly flip his hips to turn and run with receivers while retaining proper inside positioning. Recovers quickly when caught in a trail and will get his head around to make a play on the ball. Shows great hands, awareness and overall ball skills to be a playmaker when it's in the air and with run after the catch after the INT. Cover corners are hard to come by but he has the speed and skill set to develop into a fine one at the college level if he can continue to add strength and polish his technique.

Run Support
While he does not project as a hard Cover 2 corner required to consistently jam and set the edge, he does possess some surprising physicality. Will close hard, arrive with the ball and collision receivers with explosive pop from his lower-body and limit RAC.

Bottom Line
One of the more explosive and electric athletes in this class, Jackson comes from a program that has produced its share of playmakers, including USC standout Marqise Lee and Jackson is cut in that same mold. De'Anthony Thomas type of skill set on offense and would likely be used in a similar role if he plays on that side of the ball. Overall, Jackson's slighter frame is a small concern and he relies on natural ability at times more than refined skill set, but all that should come at the college level when concentrates on one position.

In other words... He good.

I'd say if Adoree is a FL lean we will know for SURE after Friday Night Lights. If we make it through that without a commitment and can get him to OV during the season I like our chances. He favors the east coast, so I'd assume UT is right up there with FL. We also have a HELL of a secondary class coming in that he wants to be a part of. Developed a strong bond with most of the guys while he was here too.

If this kid is special on offense too and putting him there gets him a commit to us, can we take him and move Vic to cb? And/or creamer to d?

Yall arent realizing no matter how he feels coming out of any visit he is a NSD guy. He is going to take all of his OVs, hear everyone's pitch, and make his decision in February not July.

From all I have seen and read about Adoree, if he and coach agrees to try out at WR, he would be a 5 * receiver. He is that good an athlete. If he is good enough to be a 5* receiver, I say go for it. This is a win win situation, even at WR u.:rock2::rock2::rock2:

Link or GTFO.

actually his twitter and ask.fm has been flooded with him saying he wont commit anywhere until NSD. hes getting annoyed by people asking him when hes going to commit, because he has said NSD at least 100 times

he already has ESPN coverage set up on NSD. no way he gives that up

We DON'T "NEED" him, we would like him to join our class, but i wouldn't trade anyone from our class to get him. Our class is ONE IN A MILLION. Don't get me wrong i would love for him to be a vol

I can think of a few I would trade for him in a heartbeat, but maybe that's just me.

Here is how I take it... The kid obviously likes FL, our class has either committed after the offer or a visit which means these kids would die to be a vol

Well, whether he's "worth it" or not because he's interested in FL doesn't matter, because Butch already told him that if he decides to pick us come NSD, there would be a spot for him. Florida sucks, Go Vols. It's already well known why FL is an attractive spot for top-tier CB and track-runners, but Florida still sucks, and Tennessee has made the best impression to date. Should be considered a UT lean until we hear his comments from his FL visit. Me personally, I think where we well exceeded the hype, I think FL is gonna sort of underwhelm their hype, much less beat our visit, and that "FL lean" impression people are pulling out of their a** will go away. As far as the general public is concerned, Tennessee isn't even in his top 5, but if you actually pay attention to his quotes, I think it's actually become obvious that this is turning into a FL/UT battle.
