LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Five-star cornerback Adoree' Jackson has eight schools in contention for his commitment right now, and he hopes to whittle that down to five or six following the 2014 Under Armour All-America Game on Thursday.
Adoree' Jackson
Five-star CB Adoree' Jackson will narrow his list following the Under Armour All-America Game.
Florida, Florida State, Illinois, LSU, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA and USC are all in the hunt, but Jackson will cut two or three out within a week.
"I don't have a leader, not yet," Jackson said. "After the game, I'm going to announce the top six or top five, whichever one I feel. Then I'm going to go on from there."
The multi-talented athlete has long insisted that he'd like to compete in both track and football at the college level, and he has Olympic aspirations in track.
Florida is one of just two programs that has sent a track coach all the way out to California to meet with him, along with Florida State.
Jackson also said the Gators are recruiting him the hardest of any program, recently visiting with him before the dead period.
"[Travaris Robinson] stopped by with coach Joker (Phillips) and coach (D.J.) Durkin," Jackson said. "They fit good, me just having a relationship with them and everything in my situation, everything they have in their situation is playing out."
The five-star prospect has one official visit remaining, and it doesn't look like Florida will be able to secure a second visit from the Juniperro Serra star.
Right now, Jackson seems intent on using his final official visit on Oregon.
4. Travaris Robinson, Florida, defensive backs coach
Florida DB coach Travaris Robinson's relationship with Adoree' Jackson could be key in his recruitment.
"I'm thinking about going up to Oregon to see everything they have," he said. "For me, I want to major in broadcasting. Them being in Nike and communications and stuff like that, I know they have a great situation for me up there. You know, (see) the facilities they have and the current players that they have up there, what they like about it."
Along with sending a track coach to visit with him, Jackson said Florida was also one of three schools that sent coaches by his house to visit with his parents. LSU and Illinois were the other two to do so.
"For me, I'd say Florida would probably be the hardest recruiting me," he said. "They're staying on me, calling, talking to me, seeing how everything's going. You know, just (telling me) the need that they have with the lack of corners at that position."
Still, Jackson hasn't visited Florida since Friday Night Lights, more than five months ago.
He said that won't be a major factor in his decision, though.
"I've seen what they have and I was there for three days and I know pretty much what's going on," Jackson said. "I don't think things will change other than the season they had, but that's not a big factor."
So what will the highly coveted prospect be looking for in his school of choice?
"If I feel comfortable there, that's the main thing," he said. "If I could see myself staying there after three years and they're going to get me to the next level."

I just don't understand why Tennessee hasn't sent their track coach, as well. If he is that great in track too, it seems like our track coach would definitely want him.
