Albertville High junior Tyler Jones isn’t quite making the recruiting splash he may have wanted to despite a 6-foot-5, 270-pound frame – but schools still have him on radar. The defensive line prospect, has visited Auburn, Michigan and Tennessee thus far this fall.

The last trip was to Rocky top to check out the Vols take on the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

“The visit went great,” said Kenny Jones, Tyler’s father. “Right now Tyler's favorite is Tennessee.”

Jones actually got the chance to see more of each school while at each game.

“The second time (at Auburn), we went down and he met more of the coaches and they took him to the locker room for pregame.”

“Michigan was ok but there is nothing like the SEC and southern hospitality."

“At Tennessee, it was great,” he continued. “He got to meet Coach John Palermo. They really know how to treat a prospect.”

No offer is on the table just yet, but Jones will continue to focus on SEC schools going forward. Albertville is just 1-7 this season. Scout

Heck, offer a scholly. He could develop into something great. Looks like a Barrett Jones type player that plays center for Bama.

I saw him play pee wee ball for his dad. Good kid, on and off the field. His dad, Kenny, is a decent sort, too.

I talked to Tyler's dad, Kenny, yesterday; both our boys were at the NUC 5 Star in Atlanta. Tyler had a good day there.
