'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

I think Auburn is out of it now. If they aren't out they are really behind. I got a feeling that their recruiting class is about to fall apart. I think it's a UT/Michigan battle now IMO

Top five reasons why Derrick Green should sign with UT

1. Sr running back will be ahead of him next year and won't have to wait long to start
2. offensive line depth
3. explosive passing attack to take some pressure of him
4. Sr. qb leading that offnese bray won't go anywhere after this year
5. Jay Grham will be his coach nough said.

Derrick Green will be a better player as a freshman than Rajion Neal the senior.

Wouldn't put money on that. For example, our recruiting class did not fall apart after a horrible month of October followed by a loss to Kentucky.

Other than UK, we were losing to # 1 2 5 9 15 and 22 teams. AU is losing to some good teams but also some really bad ones. If they lose to OM and/or Vandy, recruits will start looking around.

It's true, but it was really touch and go there for a while. We ended up losing 2 great LB recruits, allowed a few to walk (Henderson and Cross), and only closed with one big name in CP. Bonner was a guy we landed solely because he was a trouble child that no one else would take. Not to mention, our JUCO signing day was a giant disappointment with Autry, Jacobs, and that JUCO DB not signing. McNeil was one of those hold your breath guys right up until the end.

And all that is without losing our HC. The Chizik hot seat is hotter than Dooley's. Chizik has a very clear marker that shows that his success hinged on Cam Newton and Gus Malzahn. Dooley has at least been gradually improving the roster and gradually making the team better despite an AC overhaul. I think that's significant. If Chiz goes, the whole staff goes. And then you can toss probation talk on top of it all. When AU's class starts to tumble, it's gonna tumble hard.

And I hope that Dooley is right there to pick up the pieces.

Frankly I don't know where we stand right now. It'll be a couple of days before our boards and insiders/mods stop punching it out and recruiting outlook gets clarified. It is like an old western movie scene over there right now with good bar room brawl. Both sunshine pumpers and doom and gloomers are in meltdown and approaching freefall.

No BS. This is only part of what I got from an extremely well-placed AU insider. "The way things currently stand, I just don't see how Chizik can survive long term. Even the brightest sunshine pumper can't see us at better than .500 next year. His FIFTH year. There is just no logical reason for him to come back next year."

Head coaching search list already started.

Someone should go on the AU message board and start a thread about John Gruden purchasing some land down there:)

No need to post on AU message board, I've already have seen a list of head coaching names. Gruden, of course, would be on everyone's list, but I think AU has started communications with others and doubts Gruden is seriously thinking about returning to college coaching anywhere.
