'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

Bringing up the issue of stolen laptops and drugs while trying to convince a big time recruit to come here, isn't helpful or funny.

Seriously?

Come on man. Lighten up a little bit. Green is not gonna not come to UT based on one anonymous poster's joke.

On Derrick Green.....got to have a grain of salt when you listen to him. I guarentee you when he visits Michigan that he will say alot of the same stuff he said here. He is influenced very easy. Whoever gets the last visit with him will probably get him. That said, I do like our chances. If we can only win 8 or 9 games this year....

SIAA, but is VaTech completely out of the picture?

If they are, and Moms is playing the stay close to home card, that's got to put us in a pretty good spot, right?

Ya, Peterman was described as gunslinger many times, but he's also very mobile. I think he ends up better than Bray because of the mobility and maturity. He may not have as big an arm, but he seems more cerebral, and I think that's good in a QB. JMO.

Ask Deputy Gator, his uncle I believe.

That article was a really good read. Gotta always root for kids like that.

So out of the teams he is narrowed down to....

Oregon- Runs the spread, and a big back like him would not fit in that system. He wont go there.
Ole Miss- So its Ole Miss. I know they have Bo but I just cant see them pulling RB like Green. Call it whatever you want, but just wont happen.
Va Tech- Serious Competition
Michigan- Green said he loved it there, but again they run the spread.
Auburn- I just think they got bigger problems (like keeping the recruits they have now). They area bout to start out 1-3.
UT- Unproven. We need a big RB and he knows that.

I think that if you just go alone off the systems he fits in that puts us in the top 2 or 3 already.

Not getting my hopes up but I like our position with Green at the moment. Really liked reading what Tiny said to him and I'm sure it was the icing on the cake to end the trip. He knows we're close and he is a big part of what's missing.

Now if we were a Nike school I'd say he was a lock cause we all know that's the most important thing....

It honestly looks like this kid could get significant carries at ANY school in the country next year...he could be a STAR on Rocky Top, without a doubt in my mind.

Hubbs already has us in the top 2. That should hold some merit. Also, based on that video, he is extremely close to his family, and it seems his mother is very much included in his recruitment. I think that is another aspect in UT's favor. Our coaches may not always close the deal with the big time recruits, but they most definitely have an amazing presence in the in-home visits.

His high school is Addias, so maybe he likes it.

I'd prefer Green, more prototypical RB and doesn't seem to be a diva. I think chances are better with Henry though.

UM will not be running the spread once Robinson's gone.
