'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

Skeet, how many RBs are we hoping for this year? Who do you think the staff favors? It seems like talk has died down about Green and focus has been on Kamara and Henry.

This is the question that I am curious about, too...how many RBs do the coaches want this cycle?

Is Turman out of the picture now? I still really like him.

I hope we are in the picture for him. I like him a lot as well. He runs with power and good pad level, from what I can tell, and seems like he would be a good one-cut and hit the seam type RB. His speed is pretty good too. I dunno just the way he runs looks like an SEC RB to me. Him and Karmara and we'd be set.

Tennessee: "They have a great running backs coach, the fans are really loyal and great and I really like the atmosphere there. It's a family feel when you visit Tennessee and it's SEC football."

Michigan: "That's also a family team and I have a great relationship with a lot of the recruits. The academics are very good at Michigan and the fan base is also amazing."

Virginia Tech: "It's obviously closest to home, they have a great staff and they love to run the ball downhill. I'd get to play in front of everyone I know."

Auburn: "They also run the ball a lot, they have a great running backs coach and a great staff, it's SEC football and again it feels like family there."

Ole Miss: "Again it's SEC football, I really felt good with the coaches when I visited and I liked the feel and atmosphere there and they want to run the football."

Oregon: "Like I said, this is my wildcard team. I've never been there but I'd like to check it out. I saw the state of Oregon at The Opening and it was nice, I have a good relationship with coach Campbell and I know they have a great fan base."

In b4 TW comes in with a novel about how he heard DG contacted their coaches last night.

D Green was never interested in UA even though he had an offer and visited last month. Which the visit was only because it was between the UGA and AU visit.

Thanks. Why no interest?

Two RBs already commited and believe that depth will play a huge factor for him. He is also good friends with VT commit H Fisher a DB that UA is trying to flip. He was only coming along to hang with Fisher from what it sounds like. He is definitely one of the top pure RBs in the class.

Have to be impressed with what Coach Jay Graham has been doing with RB recruiting.

Making Green's Top-6 is a good sign. With that being said, I don't see Green signing with UT.

I think UT has a better shot with several other RB prospects. I'm confident in Jay landing a solid RB though.
