'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

Mizzell is supposed to win these camp MVPs. They are best for quick backs. Big backs like Green don't shine in shorts and shirts. They shine when it's time to get a 3rd and 1 or when it's time to put a team on your back in the fourth quarter.

Exactly. These 7 on 7's and combines are meant for the quick smaller type backs because everything is done in space and based on athleticism. Always has been that way and always will be. The bigger backs aren't able to show their best assets and strengths at these things.

I agree with you, I prefer an offense with a 20 carry a game guy in the backfield. A team like LSU last year shows that a back by committee can work too but I prefer having a lead back with others there to spell him when needed/when the situation calls for a different type of threat. I think Green has the potential to be that main guy type of back.

The point I was trying to make, maybe poorly, about Mizzell is that I think he's great too, just in one of those situational back roles.

I stated earlier they're both fine backs. Both would really do well playing with each other as a tandem. Their styles compliment each other. All this he's better than him and that crap needs to stop in this thread. I could see if they were both big backs or both scat backs. But they're not so that nonsense needs to go.

Regulate

Green has stated in various interviews that he doesn't want to be a combine warrior. He shows his talent on the football feild were it counts.

Tyquan Mizzel is the perfect example of a Combine Warrior and a bust on the football feild. For example his junior season sucked and he had very few yards and is known for playing hurt when he has to play a tough team. He is weak that's why he's a scat back he dosen't want to get hit so he runs around the feild like a chicken with his head cut off to aviod contact. Green on the other hand best asset is his ablity to lower that shoulder and get lots of yards after contact. Thats why they call him the Freight because once you on the train he will take you for a ride all the way to the end zone.
