'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

From Miami Rivals -

And he says "I am definitely considering Miami." So far Green has taken official visits to Tennessee, Michigan and Auburn, and he's choosing between Miami, Oregon, USC and Florida State for his final two trips.

He says no one is in front out of that final seven right now. "I do plan to take one of the visits to Miami," Green said.

Green may take the visit after already committing somewhere. Green says he "probably" will announce a commitment at the Army All-American game.

"I just have to talk it over with my parents, will look at the programs, see where the best chance is to get on the field," Green said. "If I'm not ready to announce (by the game), then I won't."

He adds of UM that "Miami puts players in the NFL, does a lot of good things. I know it's a very good program, good academics."

Green says what he wants in a program is "a school with high academics that's producing players in the NFL, a school with game day atmosphere and most important is my chance of getting on the field as a freshman. That's what I'm looking for."

Green finished his senior season with over 1,200 yards and 20 touchdowns. He set the school's career mark for rushing yards and touchdowns.

Um... Tennessee seems to be the pretty obvious choice here.

Green is a game changer--I want him here but if he's looking at Miami I would say that would be nothing more than a pleasure trip for his OV. Last I checked--they have yet to receive the righteous NCAA backhand for all the Nevin Shaprio stuff. Game atmosphere and NFL prospects? Maybe Miami from 15 or 20 years ago but that's not Miami now. They really don't compare to what we offer.

RT @BrOoKyLn_boii27: Ran 40s and weighed in today!! Ran a 4.35 and weighed in at 218

Thats sick..the kind of RB we need moving forward and running over and outrunning defenses. So much for the ones on here that say he isnt as fast as he looks or not as fast as Kamara. Green can fly and is big.

I wonder if they will bulk him or make him cut.
If it was me, I'd bulk him to 230 and make him cut back down to 220-225. He has a good frame, and can be a stud. I want to see this pick up. It would be hugeeee

Agreed..Want this kid in O&W next season badly. His combo of size and speed is elite and would do great things in Knoxvegas!!

In his highlights, once he gets in open field he doesn't get caught very much. I can believe the 4.35 thing.

You don't see him breaking away enough in order to see him get caught from behind.

I think he will be a very good back. I don't think he will be a home run threat.

Do you all see him breaking a 60 yard TD run? I can definitely think he will be a bruiser and a hard runner in between the tackles but just judging from his highlights I don't see the speed.
