'13 VA LB E.J. Levenberry (FSU commit)

Bell being a UT FAN, and the fact numbnuts is gone is more of a reason for our chances with him.. North was a good pull, but, when has UT ever had a problem with getting Wr's?

A terrific job Would be pulling in some damn kids on defense that are sec quality..

We're being out recruited by everyone not named Kentucky in the league

Id say that was pretty damn good considering the #2 rated WR and the big home state school finished second.

Yet he is going there to play for him.....

Levenberry was committed to FSU, his main recruiters are still there, and Sal is not his position coach nor his DC, so no, he isn't.

As a matter of fact, Sal being there now is the only reason he began looking around.

Uh..., you might want to rethink that KY got two commits today that we'd kill for. Hatcher being one.

That's gotta be some awkward meetings seeing Sal in the same athletic complex. It's like a divorced couple that still work together. Whatever works for EJ.

Guys, we do have this really good LB already signed named Corey Vereen, and he is all VOL, and I believe will play with a chip on his shoulder since he is underrated, per rivals and other sites. Current players are already saying he has great work ethic. He will give his all.

We'll have two great LB's in Maggitt and A.J Johnson and we'll have Randolph and McNiel. I think we'll be better off than some think.

Hopefully add Bell to that mix.

You do know we aren't recruitng for next year. We need help at linebacker. We ended with leftovers at the position last year.

And a stud WR class, really good underated RB, and a pretty good secondary including possible all-sec JRM

What a bunch of knee-jerkers!

Levenberry would've been a really nice get but does anyone want to bet their paycheck that Levenberry will have a better career than Corey Vereen? Jalen-Reeves Maybin? Recruiting is less than half the battle!

Hey, I wanted EJ for sure, but I'm seeing a lot of stupid negativity towards OUR coach. He has been in the job less than two months and has gotten us the #2 WR and most likely a 5-star safety.

It's silly, uneducated, and impatient to call Butch a "failure", which I have seen. Dude hasn't even coached a game.

Dooley got a 9th-ranked recruiting class his first year. How'd that work?

I think it's the next year everyone is worried about.

Listen:

1) We lost a recruit. A guy who may or may not turn out to be worth a flip. We're all going crazy about him, most of us, because some sites gave him 4 stars instead of 2 or 3. Most of you on this board haven't even watched his film. And those that have aren't talent scouts or evaluators. I would say only about 2% of the people on this board have a actual clue as to how good this kid is.

2) What do you stinking expect? Butch has been on the job for two months now. 60 days. At least 14 days of those 60 was dead period. For some of that live and dead period, he was assembling a staff. But he can't work miracles! It's not like he's won a BCS championship, and his name is known worldwide! Shoot, 50% of people who are not Tennessee fans still think his name is Butch Davis! It's not like Tennessee has been featured in a good light on sports center, or has been a premier program lately. While we remember the Tennessee of the 90's, that's a far distant thought in many's mind, if they remember at all. To be a program that we'd like to think we are, we need to be like Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, Auburn, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc. The thing they all have in common is that more years than not, they have winning and successful seasons. We haven't. So why are you expecting to have Alabama results off the field when we haven't had results on the field? Facilities help, academics help, fans help, traditions help, but ultimately, no recruit goes to a place where they have no evidence that they're going to win. Tennessee has NOTHING to promise a player that we're going to win right now. We only have Butch's campaign at Cincy and Central Michigan. And if we as fans are skeptical, how much more will they as players be? Tennessee has been viewed as a underperforming program the past few years. Until that changes, and until we're on the upswing again (a winning season, where we beat someone we aren't supposed to), then good luck getting these awesome results you want. If we get Bell tomorrow, then consider us VERY lucky.

3) Butch Jones CAN coach. You don't win at Central Michigan and Cincinnati unless you can. It's not like the 5* recruits all flock to those schools. You take what you can get there, and what you can get is 1* and 2* and MAYBE the occasional 3*. If you can't coach in those leagues, you're going to be a bottom dweller. But Butch won in those league. We have a good amount of talent in our current roster, not counting this signing class. We have a Gatorade player of the year at QB, with previous starting experience, and we have two 4* running backs who have improved dramatically over the past two years. We have several WR's that are 4*, and that are physically intimidating, and promising. We have arguably the best OL in the country, with several NFL picks just waiting to happen. We have a decent defensive line that will only improve, going back to a 4-3. We have Maggitt and Johnson at LB, that have been like the LB's of UT olden days. And while our secondary lacked last year, it's not because we don't have talent. We have a good amount of talent, and experience.

We have talent on this team. We have just been poorly coached. LUCKILY, we have a coaching staff that has been together for many years, which is going to help the continuity and the implementation of this team, and it's also going to allow Butch to coach the areas that need the most help.

4) Tomorrow may or may not be pretty. We may or may not end up with a top 15, 20, or even 25 class. And that's okay for this year. No staff can promise a recruit that they're going to win at Tennessee, when a staff has not yet proven that they can win at Tennessee.

But step away from the ledge Vol fans. The ones who want to be Vols, we will welcome them to the Big Orange Family.

Those who don't want to be Vols....will VERY shortly wish they were.

Can someone summarize in two sentences or less?

Let me get this straight .... Sunseri, arguably the worst defensive coach in NCAA history, basically says Levenberry can't play and won't recruit him to UT. Said coach Sunseri then goes to FSU where he will be EJs position coach and EJ can't wait to go be a Seminole rather than play on the Hill. My dear GOD, how freakin far have we sunk? Might as well buckle in a rough ride tomorrow boys, it ain't gonna be pretty...,

If Levenberry wants to play for Sal, then he is going to get what he wants. We are not the ones sinking.
