I know losing this one sucks, but all signs point to us landing Bell tomorrow. Bell and North are two immediate impact players that will bring a spark to our offense and our defense. Which is just what we need. The other pick ups will be icing on the cake.

im so sick of hearing excuses about how we haven't won games, coaches changes etc...this is tennessee for crying out loud we should be locking $*** down...have teams like vandy able to recruit over us is bs...i don't care if we win a title or 0 games...we should be able to sell the school, the program etc to get recruits!! and this crap about him hating sal yet goes to be coached by sal seriously?... sal couldn't coach tennessee defence to get out of their own way...

I don't think it is (meaning DE as his best position) or we would have been trying him there a bit for the past two years. He's fast and when healthy out best lb. I'm sorry but when two of your three are All SEC material then I don't feel it's dire.

Basically we need a low ranked freshman qb to come in and turn into johnny football v2.0. A&m is 4th in the SEC in recruiting. And oh yeah they have been in the conference for a season

Bummer. It's hard to get over these past relationships. I still think Vonn is ours. And we will grab Miller. But after that, I'm not sure. All the rest are committed.

It infuriates me that Garner didn't want Lawson, Sal didn't want Levenberry, and Grantham didn't want Bellamy...until it was convenient for them.

And these kids keep eating it up.

I have no problems with the recruiting efforts. I just think getting stud defensive players to buy in to Jancek is a tough sell. All opposing coaches have to say is Jancek and Martinez are the only coaches Mark Richt has ever fired.

Not all signs point to Bell choosing us, matter of fact quite a few point the other way.

I wish i could say i'm surprised,but i'm not........at all. finishing second for recruits has become a theme. But with our record lately and a new staff i guess its hard to ask for much more.

This is what happens when you don't bring in more elite proven recruiters, signing day doesn't go as well as you'd like right out of the gate. Thigpen got us close, but you need more staff people who have been recruiting these kids for a long time if you want an elite class the first year.

Let's just hope the coaching benefits outweigh the initial lag in recruiting. It'll be interesting to see if CBJ'S coaching continuity has more success than AU's method of bringing in the top recruiters.

It doesn't help that Jancek doesn't recruit at the same level our other staff members do.
