'13 TN WR Jordan Sheffield

Tullahoma got knocked out by the evenutal state champion, Columbia, in the quarter finals ( 2010 Division I BlueCross Bowl Class 5A Football Playoff Bracket ). I'm from the same county (Coffee) and have watched Jordan play and excel in baseball, basketball, and football since he was a 9 year old. Heck, he'd probably be an elite athlete in tiddly winks. Jordan is fairly closely-related to the Major League's Gary Sheffield.

I think he's the nephew of Gary...Kid can play ball, great baseball player but would be nice to have him play football for the VOLS as well! Can they get multiple sports scholorships?

Seen this kid in a scrimmage the other day.. Took 2 back for punt returns and caught 2 td's also.. Kid is extremely fast with good hands..

Unless he changes his mind, he and his younger brother are giving up football, for now anyway, to concentrate on baseball.

Heard the same here. Hey maybe he comes here and walks on the football field. Best of both worlds! Are we recruiting him? If not we need to! Someone needs to go down and talk to CSS.

I know this is off subject as far as football recruiting. Jordan is going to North Carolina to try out for team USA. Hope he does well.

Serrano is doing a fantastic job recruiting in state. Can't get them all but he's landing some studs. Most recently the #1 juco catcher in the country.

Sorry I hate to disagree but Sheffield is an example of how wrong your statement is. He was committed to the former staff but for whatever reason decided against the new one. Don't confuse quantity with quality.

No. If there's one thing you can't complain about in ut athletics its baseball recruiting.

Sheffield was committed to Todd Raleigh and for some reason choose not to stay with that committed once the staff was hired. This is just another of many examples of Vandy getting the best talent in the state. As I stated earlier don't confuse quantity with quality.

Jordan is quality...and Jordan got a brother who is one year younger and he is perhaps even better than Jordan on the mound. Left handed

Of all things you complain about, the baseball recruiting? Serrano seems to be doing a pretty good job.

link this public knowledge

Baseball recruiting isn't covered like hoops and FB but I am certain someone can confirm he was committed to the previous staff as it was well know throughout the state in the baseball world. I probably shouldn't give TR the credit as Ash Lawson was responsible for getting the commitment.

Vandy has been among the nations elite going to the cws while we are in our first year under a new coach. Unlike other sports there is a ton of in state talent for baseball. We will be fine.

I have no passion for Tenn baseball neither for either staff mentioned here. I have no reason to state an untruth. Someone will stumble on this thread that knows that Sheffield was committed to the previous staff. I didn't state this info to stir the pot.
