Dude could turn into a great player or could be a special teams monster. Nothing wrong with getting some in state talent.

THIS, is the first band-aid from the wounds from the previous staffs lacerations to the in state talent.
ALSO, I am pretty sure CBJ would not dabble in offering this kid a g-shirt knowing our needs. It shows me confidence in coaching up these kids & having them ball.
& if this kid has to work harder, well I could say a lot of members of our team has to as well. Even If he plays special teams, & has his first special teams tackle against Florida & knocks the ball free, he lived his dream~! Hope he gets a little faster for SEC play, & turns into a beast future Vol Legacy. Good luck kid on your journey. I will have you sign some gear at the spring game. Good Luck, & Give your all for Tennessee.

Hope he works out. I like his spirit and it sounds like he has a great work ethic, but I'd be lying if I said I felt 100% comfortable with this pick up. You can coach a lot of things, but speed isn't one of them. And to be clear, I am not downing the kid. I really hope he makes something of this opportunity, but his current measurables scare me as to whether he can play at the SEC level.

It is also nice that Coach Jones was honest and upfront about the grey shirt. Most of the time coaches tell them that right at signing day. "Yea we just signed a 4 star kid and even though you committed 6 months ago we are out of scholarships".

This guys film is solid. Seems hard to take down and I see a little CP in him as well. I think this is a good pic up for us.

This guy's upside is probably Jaron Toney. Not a bad thing, but I doubt he's ever more than a special teamer.

I'm OK with that on a every other year basis. You need some athletic special teamers so your more athletic starters don't have to.

If the kid gets here and works his a** off, he could be a productive SEC player for us. It's really up to him. I am sure his High school coaches told our staff that he would work hard, or we would not take him. Do any of you guys who are from his area know what kinda worker he is?

I am still trying to figure out if Foreman is worth two scholarships. Swafford may be a ST contributor at best and not sure wasting a future scholly on a ST player is worth it.

Time will tell but these rarely work out. The only one I have seen turn out good was Denarius Moore.

This may not be a "package deal" the way people are making it out to be. Malik switched to UT partially because he wanted to play with Swafford, but UT was interested in Swafford regardless. My source is a parent of one of their teammates, FWIW.

They offered Swafford in order to get Foreman. However, as I said in the other thread CJG thinks Swafford can be a good player too.

I just don't believe that for one minute. The kid has 0 SEC offers, even Vandy hasnt offered yet the UT staff suddenly thinks hes SEC material? Come on guys...

I see your point and not to be that guy but plenty of kids with only one SEC offer end up being pretty good players. And plenty of kids with a handful of SEC offers never amount to anything.

Only time will tell, just like any other recruit.

For the record, I'm not saying I believed it. Just that people have said that. I should have been a good lil lawyer and said "allegedly."

All day long hard worker. I see him at the gym often so I know firsthand. He is a high character individual who will do everything asked of him and more IMO. I think we will look back on this pick up and be happy about it. :good!:

I have to disagree with this statement. Does it happen yes. Is it a normal thing, no. It is a rare thing that occasionally happens when under the radar players become impact players in the SEC. For every 5 under the radar 2star/3star players there is one 4star who is making highlights.

I guess plenty means different things to you and I. I didn't say it was common or "normal". But it happens every year in the SEC. Guys like the honey badger and Bray are examples.

Maybe Swafford doesn't contribute, maybe he does. Maybe he wins the heisman, maybe he never leaves the bench. We don't know his future. Time will tell...
