'13 TN RB Cornelius Elder

He's an elite athlete. He could be an outstanding cornerback in the SEC. He could also be a special player on offense in the SEC. There is a reason he has a big-time offer list.

If Tennessee ever wants to make any kind of move up the ladder in this league you better start landing these types of guys in your backyard. And you especially cant lose a legacy like Todd Kelly Jr to Alabama, which is likely to happen in the very near future

i am still baffled as to why we were never in it for him.

DB/RB with that much athletic ability...

I can totally see Corn as a Ray Graham type RB.

No he meant Ray. The kid plays for Pitt. He was on a crazy tear last year until he messed his knee up. Look him up and look and his highlights, I'm sure you will understand.

Yes Ray is a very good back. I still would love to see this kid used like Tavon Austin. Would be a fun player to watch in that type of role.

But I do agree I want this kid we need all the athletes we can get and he would be a waste on defense. I'm sure Chaney or whoever can draw some plays up for this kid or at least put him back their with CP on kickoffs and give Devrin a break.

Chaney can't get CP or Pig Howard a bunch of touches. Wouldn't trust him to get this kid in space either. Dummy will just run wildcat instead of tunnel screens to those two guys.

Oh yea I forgot who was calling the shots I'm glad I'm not the only one who is tired of seing the wildcat on 3rd and 5 inside the 30 I mean that is just great play calling lol. The only time we should worry about the wildcat is at the goal line or in short yaradgae with AJ in the beast package with Bullard at TE then I don't mind it.:)

I think it's an assumption. A new football coach still doesn't mean he's going to have the opportunity to play basketball at UT.

Exactly. I can understand thoughts like this regarding players who have some interest in Tennessee, but people who think that cats are gonna be flocking like a herd of goats on Mount Gilead with a coaching change are setting themselves up for a disappointment. This guy has never shown a shred of interest in Tennessee.

Tennessee has never been interested either. I don't know where people got the rumor that bball is the reason. He is a bad fit. He is a great fit at a place like UCLA, Vandy, Ole Miss, or other spread type offenses.

i know the family, basketball or not id bet he comes for the rumored staff if asked. he could play both ways, in football

Not being an azzhat, but if you know the family, couldn't you just kind of throw it out there hypothetically to the family, about what he would think about a Gruden staff, instead of guessing in a presumptive way? JMO.

umm. thats exactly what i did. i came to post here right when i got off the phone. many people close to him (like all star athletes) would love to see him play for "big state" school. Gruden / Bates / Morris would change this recruitment entirely and i think if they want him they'd get him.

i dont care if you think im full of crap, i would too. im just here to share what little information i have about the only recruit i know personally

No, it's cool bruh. You were just vague with you original comment, not citing whether it was your opinion or something else. As stated before, tons of people here just throw stuff out there, (man, when gruden gets here, we're gonna take every 5* known to man) without any rationale. You coulda prefaced your comment with that little extra info... But party on

I didn't think he was vague at all ... If rumored staff comes we have a good shot. Not that hard to understand.

Not many recruits would play for this loser of a coach man. Dooley is the reason the in-state guys like Frank Herron, Ramsey, and Elder aren't here. Kid could have Tavon Austin type of impact in the slot but we don't go after him. But we offer the local kid Smith. Get these dumbarsess out of here.

This. Corn is a good player. I don't wanna hear what these HS coaches say, I want Corn on my team. A good coach can find ways to get this guy the ball.

these reports that Gruden has been studying the Oregon offense are interesting

He also studied App St's offense back when then when multiple NCs and had Armani Edwards at QB.

I've heard he's been working on integrating some spread concepts into his offense.
