'13 TN RB Cornelius Elder

UCLA showing extreme interest in Elder now. They are offering basketball along with football as the main selling point. This would be a good p/u for Mora.

He'd be sick in that system. Question is how long is Paul Johnson going to be around? They are underachieving big time this year.

Keith N. with 247 is now tweeting that UCLA might actually be a legit threat for Elder, citing basketball as a reason.

agreed UCLA is probably the lead right now because of basketball. he's liking the idea of goin to the west coast . his dad said they are goin to visit UCLA on the 17th. dunno what month , november i guess. he was kinda talkin to Oregon a month ago..who knows. i asked about Tennessee and just got mumbles and a change of subject . probably best for both sides anyway. UCLA isnt what the once were in hoops but they are a top 5 all time program easily, would be cool to play basketball there.

Playing against BA on ESPN U. Corn is the real deal. 2 big runs followed by a TD. Making people look stupid out there.

Watching the replay of the Ensworth game vs Brentwood Acadey. Corn Elder has been very impressive. Is Tennessee really in play for this young man?

We have never been in it. He wants to hoop it up first and play football second. I believe he's leaning towards GT.

UT and SEC schools aren't in it because he wants to play basketball more than football. Elder's own coaches said he doesn't have the hips or top end speed to play corner in the SEC and he isn't physical enough to play safety. Most SEC schools see his best fit as a slot receiver in a spread offense which is why Vandy or Ole Miss would be a great place for him.

He is leaning toward GT, and has said he wants to play football 1st, but also play basketball. GT and UCLA have said it was fine....as did Vandy. FWIW

This kid is as fluid and shifty as they come with plenty of speed.

This kid is ranked a 4 star by every site(espn, rivals, 247, scout) for a reason. He is a playmaker on either side of the ball. IMO, he is much quicker than Teague.
