Had the opportunity to see him very close on Friday night. By far the most dominant athlete on the field. He is one of the best, if not the best, in Nashville.

Seems to be right around 5'10"-5'11", probably weighs in around 175-180lbs. Seems to me that he had more "football speed" than anyone else on the field Friday against Brentwood Academy, regardless of his 40 time. This is his junior year. Plenty of time to add a little more size to his frame. Will be highly coveted next year.

Elder, known as "Corn," is a terrific all-around athlete who projects as either a running back or cornerback at the next level. At running back, he has amassed about 1,500 yards this season, including 200-plus last week against a talented opponent. Elder possesses tremendous speed, and if he can get to the edge he typically can produce a big gain. Even with that speed, he isn't a straightline-only guy. He can plant his foot and change direction or simply weave his way through a secondary. Elder sees the field extremely well, which also helps make him a solid between-the-tackles runner. If he gets a crease, he hits the hole hard, then is particularly good at the second level, where his one-cut ability is a major part of his game. Often, he will nearly come to a stop to shake a defender, then quickly get back into top gear.

On Monday night, Mississippi State became the third program to offer. Alabama, Clemson, Florida State and Miami are showing strong interest, and it wouldn't be a shock if any or all offer Elder sometime soon.

50 yard kick return last night. Could have housed it except for one missed block. He also had a terrific run where he reversed field twice before out-running the defense around the left edge. Number 1 looks good as well for Ensworth. I left at 19-0. Freezing.

I am pretty sure number 1 for Ensworth is Cory Batey, committed to Vandy.

Ranked #49 in the Top 247 for 2013. According to 247 dudes ranked the 5th best RB in the country. Derrick Green 12th, Keyante Green 38th, and Chaz Thornton NR yet.

The best athlete on the field every time he steps on it. And it's been that way since he was a freshman.

Elder ran through MUS for 269 yards and 3 TDs on just 20 carries last night.

MUS coach Bobby Alson on Elder: "He's a scary guy. Any chance he gets it, he's got a chance to go the whole route. It only takes one guy to have a breakdown and he's around the corner. Once he gets outside, he's hard to catch."
Nashville Ensworth star dominates vs. MUS The Commercial Appeal

For the season Elder has rushed for just over 2000 yards, averaging right at 10 YPC. He also has over 400 yards receiving.

Wow, don't see that too often against MUS. Mr 4.25 himself rushed for about 30 a few weeks ago.

Yes, I have seen him play. He is excellent! But he has that bad combination of being both short and light. If he grows another 2-3 inches, that will be perfect. If he stays at 5' 9", then there is no way he can play in the SEC at 170 pounds. If you try to make him into a Travis Henry, 5'9" 220 block of cheese might work. But that will cost him the speed. We'll see what he looks like at the camps this summer, but for me, he is too small right now.

Great basketball player by the way.

Naturally, he'll bulk up once he gets to college. I could see him being 5'10", 190.

why does everyone think you have to be 6 feet tall to be a great running back? take a look at the height of the #1 and #3 all-time leading rushers in the NFL!!!

Not being an ass or anything but Mr. 4.25's offensive line isnt worthy of being on the field with EHS's OL. Ensworth is the best team in the state and anyone that plays QB or RB for them will have good stats.

Now I tried to make that real clear. I don't mind running backs who are 5'9", 5'10" or 5'11'. It can be an advantage. But you can't be that short AND be slightly built..only weigh 160 or 170 pounds. That will not work for long. It's like that little walk-on guy from Alcoa that we have playing right now. He is just too small and light. If one of the big Bama or LSU linebackers got squared up on him, they would knock him into next week.

If Corn can carry 190 pounds or so, he might have a chance. I like him! He is exciting.

I think Baylor will beat them by a couple of touchdown. Baylor is really strong and physical. We shall see next week...?
