'13 TN RB Cornelius Elder

No. In the SEC every DB on the top 5 or 6 teams is bigger and faster than this kid. Good luck to him but he would never have an impact against a Bama or Florida defense.
We don't need another tiny, quick guy.
I know he isn't a DB, just saying he won't bust the edge in the SEC.

Lol.

We don't need playmakers? Winners?

Are you implying that we can win with a team full of 5'9" 160lb guys as long as they are winners and/or playmakers?

I said we don't need another tiny, quick guy and we don't. Not like him. There are reasons for him not going to an SEC team and they aren't all up to Elder. Boise, Kansas, San Diego State... sure but not many in the SEC.

I'm not implying anything and I'm not sure how you got that from my post. How many tiny, quick guys do we have? Two?

Extremely ignorant post.

Elder wasn't a fan of UT while growing up and had no interest. That's another reason why rebuilding the middle TN recruiting base is key. All the kids around here grow up watching all these teams around us do well, while everything they have heard about UT since they were in elementary school has been negative.
Hopefully, this will change soon and we will change the tune here.

This. People who earn paychecks making decisions about these kids thought so too.

Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Trindon Holliday, Onterio McCalebb, and Percy Harvin will all disagree with you that little guys can't be good considering they are all in the NFL or soon to be

I am not completely sure, but I think he was referring to Elder as a DB and all of the guys you mentioned, as I am sure you know, play offense. I may be wrong and if so I am sorry.

Also, Demps, Rainey, Holliday, and Harvin (not sure about McCalebb) all have world-class track speed, is Elder that fast?

And Elder isn't even close to being in their league! Percy Harvin is almost 6 ft and closer to 200 lbs than 150. I believe all of those guys you mention ran legitimate sub 4.4 40s

You saying Miami has been more relevent than us in Elders lifetime? If anything UM has been in the news, negatively, for the past 2-3 years...before that, when they were winning, they had a thug mentality.

Well he said "wouldn't make an impact against a BAMA or Florida defense" so I think he is talking about offense. If he isn't then he said it wrong

I was talking about Elder on offense. We need big, fast, physical WRs (Patterson, North, Croom) in the SEC and we need big, fast and physical RBs (Richardson, Lacy, Henry) in the SEC. I should've followed my quotes with IMHO I guess. Knowing how the measurables (usually) go he is probably 5'7" and 150lbs and runs a 4.5

I'm saying negative about Miami is basically nothing in middle tn. Nobody cares. Meanwhile, kid hears not a positive thing about it football since he was in 6th grade.

Not hard to figure out why recruiting can struggle when you are recruiting kids that have heard so much negative, they have no interest in looking. We need CBJ to make some positive things happen
