'13 TN QB Charlie High

Charlie High won Mr. Football today for Class AA Back

For someone who compared his stats to Justin Worley's earlier, I took the liberty to look those up.

Charlie High (Junior year thru 14 games)- 325 of 443 for 4715 yds 73% comp 58 TDs 12 INTs
Justin Worley (Senior year 15 games)- 428 of 589 for 5313 yds 72% comp 64 TDs 11 INTs

Stat that might only interest me: Worley attempted over 40 pass attempts in a game 7 times and over 30 in the other 8. High attempted over 40 passes in a game 3 times and over 30 in another 6.

Very similar but you also have to look at the level of competition. By no means am I saying High isn't good, but Worley did some of that against Jadeveon Clowney.

Absolutely respect what you're saying. I will comment, though, that Worley only played in 2 games his senior year that were decided by 10 points or less, so either his team was that much better than all the stud teams in the area or maybe his competition wasn't that great either.

Talked to a lady today and her son is one of the coaches at CAK. Apparently the word is getting out on High. If he can perform well at his camps this offseason ala Voytik then he may get more consideration. Regardless of where he goes he will be a very good QB for their program. Here's to hoping we don't wait too long on him!

I wouldn't be opposed to High getting a Tennessee offer if he comes to camp and does well. Seems very smart for a high school QB.

He will have big-time offers.

She mentioned Arkansas being in early. He has looked the part against a pretty good Milan team today. He has 6 TD's now. I have a feeling that when he camps with the Vols he will get his offer.

Milan alum here, and Milan is awful against the pass. I haven't seen one SEC caliber throw from High. I think he is a great HS QB, and a mid major QB. I may be wrong it wouldn't be the first time.

Well that's simply not true. I've only seen him play 2 games and has been very impressive, but putting up numbers that are top 2 in the nation in yards and touchdowns speaks for itself

Thats just funny right there, I dont care who ya are!

Which part is not true?

Milan is awful at defending the pass.

High really didn't make any SEC caliber throws.

High plays awful competition, and don't act like Alcoa this year was great competition.

this sounds funny too say it but, on his Fifth td pas (lol) it was just a horrible weak throw.. straight up in the air... about forty yards downfield.. the wr wanted it.. numerous db's did not.. he seems pretty stout but i just cant tell how good he'd be cause i'm not a coach.. imo worley looked a little more solid, but high has got that brett farve, extend the play for a few seconds, gunslinger aspect to him seems like... plus he's not even a senior yet.

Yep, Milan has always been awful vs. the pass. Luckily, we play in West TN where no team has a good passing game.

He has been putting these numbers up all year. It's all part of the system he's in but those numbers are still unreal. Come back tomorrow when you get over the loss and realize he led his team through the entire state

I guess thats what Alcoa, Austin East and all the other east Tn. schools were sayin too?

When I get over the loss? I knew CAK was going to smoke Milan, they can do something Milan can't stop and that's pass. It's not a bitter opinion from me. I hope he is the next great QB that does great things here. I just don't see an SEC QB. I would love to be wrong.

Offer him please! We need a Tennessee kid at QB. Haven't had one since Andy Kelly unless you count the seven snaps to Jerry Colquit. Charlie High is very impressive!!! Quite a game he had there today!

Well I don't know much about either team besides high and I was very impressed with him. His recievers helped but his reads and passes were on the money. Hope he does big things next year and wherever he goes to school

Wow I can't believe CAK is state champions. I went to CAK back in my middle school years and back then they had a shared team with King's Academy ( I think) when they first started their football program. The only team they could beat the first few years was TSD. They have come a long way.
