Thatsmyboy did you get the clip I sent you of it? It is a crappy recording of a recording but you can still make it out. Can't wait for the first game, just to watch him run through the T.... My mom and dad would be so proud of him. I know the rest of us are.
?I'm 6'4 and weigh 295 lbs, Vincent Dallas's mom saw Austin and asked me where he got all his size from! I looked at a picture of us standing side by side in the training center after the scrimmage and I didn't realize he was that much bigger, I look like him compared to me when he was 12
Out of curiosity, how tall was Austin at 12? The reason I ask is that my son is 5'3" and around 130 lbs. at 10, and the doctors are projecting he will end up between 6'4" and 6'6".
He's built like a classic DT. We're having difficulty finding pants/shorts that fit due to the size of his thighs and rear.
Now, if we can just maximize the upper body strength and teach him to capitalize on that mean streak of his, we may just be able to avoid paying for college.![]()

Austin was 5'8 about 190 maybe a little less. He was 6'0 in 8th grade and freshman year high school was 6'2 250
My son just started 6th. At the rate he is going, he may just be on track for similar growth. Now, whether he will have the talent for college ball remains to be seen.
With that said, one of the kids in his class is already around 5'10" and I'm guessing close to 200 lbs. based on his size. That kid could be a freak of nature by the time he hits high school in three years.
Not necessarily, it is actually statistically more likely that somebody that has grown that quickly has pretty much maxed out growth wise
IGood point. His parents are probably hoping for some stability soon.
Speaking from experience, updating the wardrobe so often can be taxing on the wallet.
Sorry for pulling the thread so far OT. Back to discussions regarding Austin and the Vols.

My favorite thing about that pic of Austin is that it shows his attitude walking through there. I don't know what he was feeling, but he looked like he was calm as a cucumber.
