Were you in the novel the outsidersI go back to the old Sportsman honky tonk on Lee Highway. They had dudes as car hops and would sell us teen agers beer for good tips. We would sit in the parking lot, drink beer and listen to rock n roll. It was too dangerous to chase girls in that joint. Could get your throat cut.
Austin is speaking today at Lake Forest Middle School about football and what it has done for him, playing at Bradley, how he feels about UT, and the importance of education. He thought it was one classroom and last night found out it was the whole school in the auditorium!

This is one of the best posts ever.My son attends Lake Forest and is on the football team there. When he came home the day Austin spoke there he walks in all excited and says, "Dad, Austin Sanders was at school today speaking. I actually got to shake hands with him as I walked in! He's huge! He's got the biggest hands I've ever seen!" My son's a huge Vols fan, so when he found out Austin was going to UT he started really paying attention to him. The only time we saw Bradley play this year was the Bradley/Cleveland game. My son stayed glued to Austin throughout since he plays the line too. Alot of the kids around here already look up to Austin, as does my son. I think it's great that Austin is becoming a role model for the younger kids.
