If he's in the 2013 class, he has to be a junior. So, assuming he's a top tier recruit in the state (per Carlos), he should get his stars next summer or earlier.

My mistake Sam, and Tripper. I was off by a year.

Good pickup, already 6'5 300 at age 16. Could end up being atleast 6'6 310 by the time he gets on campus. I'd guess he starts out as a 5.6-5.7 3*.

He was at camp back in Mid-June & really did good, CHH offered him then.

Could be another Chad Clifton incubating down in Bradley County. Big ole orange blooded country boy. Great news on the recruiting.

Have u seen him play?

I was down at Bradley Central tonight and I saw him. This guy is huge! I don't think he played because some of the coaches we're saying that Bradley scrimmaged Alcoa earlier during the week and was giving them rest. All in all I was having a conversation about the '85 Vols and how they had kids from Tennessee, along with the '98 team, and it just goes to show that Dooley focuses on our state and knows kids that bleed orange and white!! Go VOLS! :loco:

Also playing on the defensive line for the Bears, Sanders has already had around 18 “pancakes” in the first week of preseason contact drills, including a strong showing in the Bears’ trip for a joint practice with seven-time defending state champion Alcoa Thursday.

“It’s not just his size that makes him good. His footwork and quickness are very good,” expressed coach Floyd. “People don’t see the kind of work he puts in behind the scene. He loves the weight room. The weight he’s put on (from 250 to 300 in two years) is all muscle.”

Dooley & staff know the recruiting rules much better than I ever will, but I didn't know that a prospect could be invited to campus for a "one-on-one workout," as mentioned in the article above. Maybe it's just poorly worded and Sanders was actually invited back for a second camp to see him go up against other campers?

I teach at Bradley Central and have watched this kid play numerous times. He has been starting on the OL since his first day and played against some pretty good tallent including Jaq Smith. He was getting a lot of attention from other schools with Bama and Michigan recuiting him the hardest. When I talked with him at the end of the school year Bama seemed to be the team to for his services. I believe that he is actually bigger than the stats that are mentioned above. He is massive and only getting bigger (remember he is only 16 years old). As long as he stays healthy his junior and senior years, he will be one of the highest ranked OL in the nation. Glad to see him pick the vols instead Bama and other high profile universities. CDD and staff can recuit against the big boys and win. This is a great addition for us with massive potential.

Did Bama actually ever offer?

Doesn't sound like he'll change his commit either. Hopefully he keeps improving the next couple years

He won't, or, at least, I wouldn't bet on it. This kid has been a vol for his entire life thanks to his parents.

“When they (Tennessee) offered me (a scholarship), there was no doubt I wanted it,” declared Sanders. “There’s no other team in the nation I’d rather play for. When the team you’ve always dreamed of playing for makes you an offer, there’s no reason to wait. I don’t want to go anywhere else.”

This kid's attitude and desire to suit up for the orange is what UT has been lacking. Need more players with the same love for UT.
